Max Unger "Stoked" to Join the Saints

Max Unger arrived in New Orleans Sunday night, drove through some lcoal neighborhoods and then showed up Monday morning at the Saints' facility in Metairie ready to take physical.

"I'm assuming I passed," he said Monday on a conference call with local reporters.

By doing so, Unger formally cemented the most surprising trade of the NFL offseason. The Saints sent star tight end Jimmy Graham and a fourth-round draft pick to the Seattle Seahawks for Unger and a first-round pick.

Unger, who turns 29 next month, has spent his entire pro career in Seattle, but said he was "stoked" about coming to New Orleans.

"It's just kind of a crazy feeling, man. I've obviously never been traded before," he said. "It doesn't happen with a lot of frequency in the NFL so you don't necessarily expect it. But once I kind of got over the shock of it, I'm stoked, I'm excited, my wife's excited to live in a place that we've never lived. And I think we're coming to an awesome organization where we can win some football games."
