After the emergence of the New England two TE system a lot of chatter has been focused on having 2 athletic pass catching TE's without a thought on can this guy even be an in line TE at the NFL level. (see Ladarius Green - LINK /)

What is the thought on a two TE system with Graham paired with a solid blocking TE like Martellus Bennett.

I thought he would be an interesting player and in the New Orleans offense could be a solid role player.

Age: 25
2011 cap hit $770k LINK /
He is a former basketball player at Texas A&M and is considered an 'athletic' guy.
Listed as a very good blocker.
Low production as a receiver with 85 career catches over 4 years. 2011 - 17 catches 144 yards.

Can he grow into a receiving threat? Was his low production a result of being a backup player to Witten and Dallas scheming him in as a primary blocker or is not a threat in the passing game?

With New Orleans facing some cap issues he looks like a low splash addition that has a lot of potential.

We just broke the all time offensive production in the NFL and you want to focus on offense? We need help on D before we even think about O.

With it likely that we will lose either Colston or Nicks he would be a nice addition to ease the loss.

If both players are retained he definitely isn't as interesting.

Also you can help the defense out by running the ball more.

Speculation is that the Cowboys will want to keep Bennett. He will cost more than his 2011 salary, but they like him as an addition/backup to Whitten. If the Saints want to bring in another "pass catching" TE, I would expect it to happen in the draft, mid-round, where they wouldn't cost a bunch.

The guy has been purely a potential guy his entire career. Hes never lived up to any of it

Hed be worth a shot for you guys but dont expect him to light it up in that case

Well the Cowboys would like him back but they expect a pretty good market for his skills, especially since athletic TEs have really been productive in the right system. He should be a good target for someone looking for a consistent threat at TE.

He might be a target for the Giants, Falcons, Cardinals, or Chiefs.

100% truth there. But has not this guy been injury prone most of his career?

I don't follow Dallas so i can't say how often he shows on the injury report each week but it appears he has only missed 4 games in 4 years. (2 in 2009, 2 in 2011). LINK

i dont think he is injury prone. He was supposed to be a good pass catcher, but has emerged as a good blocking TE in the league. He'd be a nice piece in the run game .

Brees makes TEs good (David Thomas), we don't need a high-talent headcase like Bennett.

Does he have off the field issues or a bad attitude?

Just curious when i read about him I didn't see anything of the nature mentioned.

seems like I recall several incidents where his maturity was questioned.

He would definitely get some bidding on the market cuz the potential card is still in play for him. Two years younger than Graham btw. So maybe a good addition but no bargain deal.

We dunno if Thomas is done either. He may get his head together for another year or two.

I go with a draft pick being more likely if any present themselves as a value at whatever round.
