Marketing: Why do the Saints underutilize "When the Saints Go Marchin' In"?

This has always been really strange to me as "WTSGMI" is easily one of the 100 greatest and most influential American songs of all time. Strong New Orleans ties with Louis Armstrong and jazz even BEFORE the Saints were named primarily due to Catholic heritage, but still a large part of the cohesion of the name to our market was the song/jazz/city/football team ties.
You'd think that it would be a natural to play at least a snippet of the song after most (if not all touchdowns). I know that (at least for a while) it was played when the clock struck 0:00 and the Saints had won, but that tradition never seemed as engrained in the Saints gameday experience at it could have been.
If you have been to games at Chicago, Denver, Miami, Washington, Philadelphia, you know that after every home TD the scoreboard flashes the lyrics to the teams' fight songs and 80,000 strong sing along. I'm kind of surprised that we never did that.
Just curious if anybody else felt the same.

They have in the past. Maybe it got stale?

Because it's the 21st century and we'd all rather stand up and get crunk

It has been a while but I've been to over 100 games in the Dome. I'm going to Lucas Oil and Reliant for the first time (for Saints games, anyway) this year. Maybe Carolina as well.

Does Ronnie Lamarque still sing it in commercials? If there's one thing I miss living in Lafayette, it's New Orleans commercials.

They played it when we won the NFC Championship game

They don't want to be accused of copying Southampton.

It appears he's stopped that and the more awful Ronnielogues and is doing a parody "the most interesting man in the universe" commercials this season. They're not bad.

Singing a team song is terrible and the only thing worse is the crowd doing Seven Nation Army.

Love that song, but "I Believe" is my all time favorite Saints song.

It was a pretty cool experience having the entire Orleans bar in Seattle sing it before heading to the stadium

One spontaneous singing isn't the same as singing it after every TD.

Maybe not, but it wouldn't be terrible to do it once a game or for big games. Have a sponsor with it that can replace one of the awful commercials

It's the best "team song" I ever heard, so, I agree.

maybe this year they could play when the saints are limping in

They actually do play it in the Dome a lot, after field goals...But it's only a small chunk of the song. I believe it is the Fats Domino version they use. They will usually play a chunk of it in between the actual touchdown and the extra point, at which point between the extra point and the kickoff they play the other famous song that they are known to play after touchdowns.
