I personally think tackles are a pretty useless stat for gauging defensive ability unless you put up a monster number like over 200. You can see good defensive players. Shanle has led the team or been close every year since he's been here. Does that make him a good player?
quote:I lol'ed when he started mugging after the receiver dropped a pass in the endzone. As if he ripped it out of his hands even though he was 10' away.
That was an awful game for Malcolm. And what makes it worse is he gets in people's faces after he gets burnt.
He is pretty slow. Poor tackling technique. Takes poor angles. Can't blitz worth a shite.
quote:His tackling stats are inflated because A)hegets a ton of chances because of everything the front 7 misses (which is a lot considering they're statistically the worst front 7 in football) when he's back in coverage and B) just like Harper he spends too much time near the line of scrimmage because he sucks in coverage.
So does my tackling stats come into play at all here?
Malcolm Jenkins should be one of the leaders of our defense given the responsibilities he has this year, and he's certainly come up short in that aspect.
just like Harper he spends too much time near the line of scrimmage because he sucks in coverage.
He does however seem completely lost in the passing game (which is pretty damn important for a FS); which is puzzling. His attitude is pretty annoying when hes getting burnt.
