I know you've never been a fan of Loomis and i've defended him a lot but I agree with you here. 7 years to put together a decent defense and he's been a total failure. Multiple major scandals.
5 years extension and control of the Pelicans?

If having Loomis here keeps Payton here, I'm all for it. Plus he's great with managing cap space. What's so bad about this?

Here's an exercise: list the players drafted on defense under Loomis. How many have been worth a damn?

I'm not 100% clear about the power structure when it comes to the draft, but I'd imagine Loomis get's input from the defense staff on what they're looking for at each position, and I'm pretty certain Payton has the final say. So what exactly is wrong with Loomis being a cap artist?
