if you are the saints GM, who do you try to "seriously" go after?

and yes i understand that most teams will "want" to resign them, but money talks, and if you are willing to pay up, anybody can be signed, the question is, who should they go after?

Don't need a 35 year old OT. We have one. Same with OG. We need young guys to replace the old guys, not other old guys.

Maybe you look at Leary and see what he's asking. We'd be a good add for 3-4 years at least.

Obviously you get Bell if you can.

On defense maybe Jones or Ingram with Bouye.

AJ Bouye (4/44 25gtd)
Kevin Zeitler (4/36 17gtd)
And if we move on from strief (probably has 1 more season in him)
Wagner (4/20 9.5gtd)

Draft: Barnett or Thomas (DE)

It would be a lot of fun to watch. I just don't think the value is there for the type of price that he would be asking. I would be a little annoyed if we invest a lot of resources in a rb.

I want Leary, Zeitler, or Warford to sure up the G position. Bouye would be nice but I think he gets overpaid somewhere else. Picking up a OLB like Jones, Ingram, or Collins would be huge. If we didn't blow our load on a TE last year I would say Bennett.

Melvin Ingram OLB and Mo CB would be a great start.

Pull the early trigger on a front line G.

We have a lot more cap room than for just two good players.

Kevin Zeitler G

Ronald Leary G

Jamie Collins OLB

Morris Claiborne CB

We can make these signings and not kill ourselves long term. Bouye is a great CB, but he will require a king's ransom, and I would prefer to split those dollars between Zeitler and Leary.

I know we will be able to sign more than 2 players, but I think we need to temper expectations about how much cap space we really have. Everyone thought we overpaid for Fleener last year, when in reality we just gave him a normal market-level deal under the new cap. This is going to be the same way this year... contracts are going to continue to inflate. 30M is not the same as it was 8 years ago.

precisely, structure it however, but we still need to spend ~10-15mil on our own guys like snead/fairley/coleman etc.

we also have to compete with many other teams with money too
