Let's trade McCown to Dallas for a Gaurd

If Brees goes down who cares if McCown can come in and win 2 games for us. Trade him and beef up the line for Brees' sake.

Dallas, and every other team in the NFL, knows that McCown has a decent chance of being cut within the next few weeks. And if he doesn't, there will be similar caliber players that will.

McCown will have absolutely no affect on Brees's salary.

I'd love to believe otherwise, but McCown is worth nothing. They'd probably prefer a 4th round pick.

For about 8 weeks, at which point Romo will come back. You don't trade a strong backup interior OL for a 3rd string QB. If you don't expect to compete for a SB, you don't trade a strong backup interior OL for a 2nd string QB. You trade them for draft picks.

I agree that they prefer picks, but they're not getting a 4th rounder for an adequate starting OG in the final year of his deal. They'll get something like a 6th for Leary for the rental, possibly with another 6th in 2018 if Leary is re-signed/extended by the team that trades for him.

I would be for this. McCown is NOT going to get cut (as some other poster stated), and Dallas needs an experienced QB. Would have to be a very good guard, we don't need another scrub.
