We need the long term stability and this would be huge. We are rudderless right now. Sign him now, get our field general and leader inked long term and let's frick Roger Goodell by winning the whole damn thing.

So true. Brees' leverage continues to rise more and more. Loomis needs to do whatever it takes to get the team's alpha male back on board.

I say let Brees call the plays this year and let Carmichael come up with the game plan.

Yep. $20M, $23M-IDGAF what it takes. It's time to get everyone on board with the team, rally the base and develop that "us against the world" mentality. It's hard to do that when the heart and soul of the team is on a one year franchise tag.

Hopefully they've been waiting for the punishments to come out to announce the deal. This way the good news will cover up the bad news and bring all together.

The more I think about it, I think this has been the Saints plan since they found out the NFL was going to punish them! Use the elation of signing DB to sweeten the bitter pill of NFL punishment.

Carmichael and staff do gameplan and Carmichael continue to do plays like he started last year and like Payton has always called.

don't we change personnel packages too often for Brees to completely call his own plays? I am all for giving Brees maximum freedom within the offense, but I would not want to change the approach that has been so effective.
