If anything strange went on, it's likely like what was said elsewhere. That part of the family might have tried to get the lawyers to get Benson declared incompetent so that they could take over immediately.

One ownership group (or close knit groups) owning the Saints and the pelicans and Benson Towers would make the sale of any one of the three a little less attractive IMHO. I think the synergies involved in owning all three right there and dominating the downtown sports presence make them more valuable together than separate. Of course moving the Saints or Pels to a larger market would increase their value, so it is difficult to say.

San Antonio wasn't the final destination for the Saints under Rita/Renee/Ryan's grand plan. The Sale of the Saints to L.A., California was what these three meatheads were selling. They were too stupid to think of the next step which was what do we do with the Pelicans. But the move to L.A. was really orchestrated not San Antonio.

Won't happen the NFL really wants a team in L.A. but not at the expense of New Orleans. Buffalo, Jacksonville, Nashville, even Charlotte yes but not New Orleans too much money the Saints brand brings to the NFL nationally but even more so internationally as Latin America is vested with the Saints organization due to the TV exposure and religious connections.
