Please make this happen. Laquon in Black and Gold just makes sense.

I've been a big Treadwell fan since his freshman year, but we have too many other needs at more valuable positions to take him at 12. Wouldn't be totally upset if it happened, but I don't see it.

Quon at 12. Build the defense with other picks, re-sign Watson and go get a guard in FA.

A number one WR is a huge need. If he is still there at 12 Sean is going to jump all over him.

I would argue DT, OG and possibly a pass-oriented OLB are higher on the totem pole than WR.

Don't get me wrong, like I said I'm a big fan of Treadwell, and if we do take him I have no doubt he'll produce. We have just always been able to do more with less in the receiving department and I think there's other areas to address first.

Trade back to 16-17, pick up a 3rd rounder, pick quon there.

He's going to be gone top half of the draft IMO, some WR needy team is going to get him and this draft is just not deep at all.

I think #12 overall is too high for Treadwell. I'd much rather get Tyler Boyd, Josh Doctson, or even Sterling Shepard in the 2nd round if we draft a WR high.

I like Boyd as a replacement for Colston.

quote:

While at Pitt, Boyd was dealt a tough hand in terms of the lack of talent at quarterback, but he never made it an issue for him, surpassing the great Larry Fitzgerald as the all-time leader in receptions and yards at Pitt.

I like Leonte Carroo from Rutgers too if we go the route of WR in the 2nd.

edit: shite maybe even Braxton if we're feeling froggy.

That is why he's expected to be the #1 WR off the board

It does make sense, but the value of that pick would be better spent on a top DT. If he were coming in with the expectation to be the next Julio, CJ, Hopkins..., then I think it may be worth considering; however, I think he's going to be in the Jeffrey, Green, Evans class where he'll be a solid #1 WR, just not a game changer.

I can't tell if you're on my side in using this as a point not to take Treadwell, or if you're disagreeing with me. If it's the latter I'll just say neither have Julio, Calvin or DeAndre.

we need a receiver more than any position IMO

Treadwell can step right in as a number one option

He's going to shoot up boards after the combine workouts, Im thinking.

I could see SP looking hard at him. He's high character, too.

Only negative is, I dont know if we have the time to develop him

What WRs have been the main ingredient of any deep playoff team lately?

Yeah Braxton really intrigues me. He literally has everything you want in a WR - size, athletiscm, speed, quickness. Only downside is he's raw(not to his fault tho). So I agree we may be too much in the build for now/win now window that they may not take the chance on him.
