Yep...but they didn't seem to know who was cut to make room. Curious to find out.

Why did they cut him in the first place?

Yeah it was brought up in the no FB thread mere hours after it had been posted.

Curious who got the axe. My money is on the QB (to be put on the PS) or Edmunds (also to the PS). But it could be Leribeus, though we normally carry 8 healthy Olinemen.

NFL rosters are becoming increasingly fluid. I give the front office some props for manipulating the bottom end of the roster as good as any. There are so many injuries you need to have relationships established with currently unsigned players to meet your changing needs throughout the season.

To make room for the 2 players we claimed off waivers. It's better the cut vet minimum vets who can't be claimed and are more costly. They are usually agreeable to these temporary arrangements.

Tapp is another who will likely be brought back at some point, though he'll be on and off all year.

Forgot to add, the QB we claimed was never going to stay on the 53. If it isn't him this time it will likely be him next time.

Put Breaux on IR/designated to return. Opened up spot for Khun.

To avoid having to guarantee his full salary if he is cut anytime during the season. They do this every year with certain veteran players. If they cut a vet prior to a specific date and resign afterwards then that salary is not guaranteed for the year.

Right. I believe only players on the roster Tuesday had their salaries fully guaranteed.

So yes he'll get paid by game.

Fortunately, Bryce Harris is only here in case of emergency. He shouldn't see the field unless Strief or a couple of the starters get injured. They probably don't want to move Peat to tackle in the middle of a game.

Good. If Strief goes down, we can just throw Ramczyk in that spot. Kelemete might man the LT spot in this scenario. Peat could slide over, but I hope we keep him at guard.

53 man roster set for Monday now.

Is that a good idea? He's played LT his entire life and this whole camp + preseason.

Interesting that they pick up Harris instead of Kuhn originally. Maybe Armstead is even closer than week 5?

Either way, I said before we signed Harris that it'd be better to shuffle the line than let Harris play. Leribeus is a much better blocker than Harris, and Kelemete and Peat are both far better tackles (even at RT).

As for Ram at RT, he was projected as a day one starter there coming out of the draft (by scouts), though I agree not having seen him at RT would give me pause. He seems more polished than Peat was though, so I'd think he'd do fine.
