Man, what a great move by the FO. It's borderline terrifying how screwed we would be without him right now.

I just thought I'd post this so we could all recognize the greatness

It's much like the Greer signing in 09.

i think he is a lot better than Greer. Lewis is playing at a pro-bowl/all-pro level. Greer was good, but Lewis is shutting down one side of the field.

I think we could say Greer shut down his side 09-11. I would say they are even on impact they had. I still think Greer has one more good year left in him.

Yeah, multi-ligament tear at 32. At this point I hope he just focuses on getting better for life after football. Nothing but well-wishes for the guy.

Greer was a G his first couple years here.

Greer quietly was too in 09/10. Greer started to get streaky this year.

weren't there some Lewis bashing threads earlier in the year? Turns out he's pretty legit.

He didn't look great in pre-season. Been lock down ever since.

Lewis is really good, but shutting down one side of the field is a little generous. I think he got lost on the TD to Baldwin on Monday night. I'm glad we have him and we would be screwed if we didn't, but in no way was either side of the field closed on Monday.

It was a great signing in foresight, too. Widely praised throughout the league and people were amazed the Steelers didn't try very hard to keep him.

Greer's always been money - on and off the field. He's one of the character leaders on and off the field.
He was better prior to his groin injury a few years ago. His loss definitely is noticeable and he's sorely mssed by this fan.

He's like a shut up corner not shut down corner. He does just enough to shut up whoever he's playing against. Put him on Steve Smith
