Will be a function for the kids in the New Orleans community. He is encouraging everyone to come out as a community to discuss gun violence and things that can be done to make the city safer for everyone. He also wants to discuss things that can be done to get the children of New Orleans more active and off of the streets.
This is awesome that Keenan is stepping up to do this. All on his own dime as well. We need more of our leaders to take a step forward and try to make a difference.
City Park at noon for those who are interested in attending.

He did invite TM7. Saw him say that they were about to organize the biggest football camp in the nation or something like that

I wonder if he shows up.

Call up Mike Wallace while they're at it

No shite. Have a camp for the kids and have the parents attend also

Parents need a camp before the children.

They won't get the numbers with a poetry slam.

Agree here. I applaud Keenan Lewis and I hope he can begin something special, but it's like Mathieu said, all these kids don't know any better and most of them wanna be Lil Wayne. Hip hop, rap, 99% of it is teaching them, drugs, violence and so on are cool and the way to make something out of themselves. This is nothing one weekend camp in New Orleans is going to fix.

We need more of this. And it can't come from white hipster activists.
Thats awesome. Props to Keenan.

The children are the parents.

I wasn't aware that violent crime in this country only began after the early 80s. Is this the reason why the FBI was formed to begin with?

Fathers need to step up and be dads. Moms need to make better choices. Only way the community is going to change.
And props to Keenan for doing this. Once upon a time there were some pretty upstanding individuals on this team that really seemed to know how important they were to this city. Coincidentally perhaps, they also happened to play the best football in franchise history. Maybe they should get back to that.

and education.

Louisiana is an absolute disaster when it comes to education. I went to a private school and I am very fortunate that I had parents send me to one, because majority of public schools here are so bad. Education needs to become a priority in this state.

Rap was invented in NYC and they have 2x the murders thus far this year in a city like 20x bigger. It's not about rap.
