Our Super Bowl comes in at 16.

Ranking of all 49 Super Bowls

quote:

Saints coach Sean Payton ruined Peyton Manning's chance of winning a second Super Bowl ring with a surprise onside kick after halftime. Tracy Porter's pick-six sealed it.

Frick Clayton. That SB was entertaining as frick. Probably one of my fav's to watch and not just as a fan. Whether it was Indy dominating early, Pierre Thomas jump starting the Saints on critical downs, Drew's efficiency, The onside kick, Peyton making a final push, or the D sealing the deal(sort of...even after pick 6 they got in the RZ really fast) that was about as good as SB's get. 2 HOF QBs going head to head 2 MVP's in the same game...oh wait NVM I get his point.

I think the game belongs in the top 12 SB's of all time and you could make a argument for fringe top 10.

That's how he described it?

I think he's really got the Tennessee/St. Louis game too low

That game was incredible

but then again i was like 12 so maybe I just remember it way more fondly than I should. steve mcnair put that game on his back and nearly pulled it off

He didn't quote all of it.

Higher than I thought, 16 from him is actually way higher then I would expect.

That was my first thought but I can't quibble too much with the top 15. All but one of those games came down to the wire and the other one legitimized the AFL and the merger.

17-6 halfway through the third without it.

This is fact.

Meh. You really think he put that much thought into it or went back and watched every Super Bowl to make this list? Pretty sure he just looked at the scores and put most of the one-score games and significant games at the top. Most of the games just outside the top 10 are pretty interchangeable, but of course there is going to be a lot of bias in this thread.

I saw the article on ESPN.com on my phone that had a lot more of description in it. What the OP quoted was a caption from a picture.

just the other day somebody posted a thread on the MSB where some guy from the USA Today ranked his Top 50 Super Bowl winning teams.

in his Top 10, he had the 1996 Green Bay Packers at #9. In his first sentence discussing that team he called them one of the most overrated teams in NFL History. Yep... that's right.. NFL History.

Edit: which makes me wonder why in the hell he had them ranked in his Top 10. Its fun to talk crap about some of these lists but I sure as shite couldn't do any better.

John Clayton wouldn't know football if it touched him inappropriately in a truck stop men's room.

# 1 in my heart for sure. But objectively, I think 16 is a perfect rank. Above average Super Bowl but not near the top
