glad to see it. Let's get hopefully one of the soon to be best defensive backfields together at last. Porter, Gay, Greer, Jenkins, Sharper, and Harper has a nice ring to it.

he's still got a good bit of time left to pick up things so it's not all doom and gloom.

agreed, plus there's no expectations for a rookie CB to come in and start the first season anyway, so everything should work out. Hopefully by mid season he'll be a contributor showing signs of future greatness

Agreed. This was just the business side of things. He should have no trouble catching up assuming he has stayed in relatively good shape.

I'm sure there are tons of examples of a player holding out then being a top producer. Yet I can't think of any. In fact I seem to remember that there's a high probability that a player who hold's out will not play in all 16 games due to injuries (not in football shape).

Don't expect much from him.

People this isn't that long of a holdout. We still have 1 week before the 1st of 4 Pre-season games. He'll have plenty of time to adjust.

And remember with all the OTAs, in which he participated, I don't think his conditioning will be all that much of an issue.

Saints agreed to terms with rookie CB Malcolm Jenkins, the No. 14 overall pick, on a five-year, $19 million contract.
Only Andre Smith (Bengals, No. 6), Eugene Monroe (Jaguars, No. 8), B.J. Raji (Packers, No. 9), Michael Crabtree (49ers, No. 10), and Aaron Maybin (Bills, No. 11) are left unsigned in the draft's first round.

he's basically just getting Mackenzie's money from last year

"Any player who misses more than three days of camp is taking a serious risk," said Gil Brandt, long-time personnel director for the Cowboys who now is an analyst with NFL.com. "What rookies see at OTAs and minicamps doesn't compare to what they see at training camp. Everything is accelerated 100 percent.

"Historically, rookie holdouts have a hard time playing well and they often suffer injuries after they show up."

Has your coaching staff said where they'll play him? Personally, I think he has free safety written all over him and can give you guys long-term stability at the position. If you throw him out at the number one corner position right now, then Antonio Bryant, Steve Smith, and Roddy White will eat him up, but I doubt your coaching staff would be that crazy.

So where do you guys think he should play -safety or corner?
