Said brees would win the MVP because he's does what he does with the least talent or something close to that.

I seriously cannot watch ESPN for more than 10 minutes without changing the channel.

well, look at his skill players. Colston is a late round pick. Bell and Thomas were not drafted were they? Bush was a high pick, but he's not a huge part of the offense. Ditto for Meachem. Shockey was a high pick, but was thought to be on the decline. He is doing the most with the least, imo....but it's not the only reason he can win.

brees largely is...but so is Peyton Manning. That's a good thing, imo. It means you can basically plug in any decent wr/rb/te and the offense won't miss a beat.

You are saying when a player gets drafted is how good they are. You are an idiot.

it's a pretty good indicator of talent, of course it's not absolute.

do you people honestly think Mike Bell, Moore, etc would play at this level with a different QB in a different system. Brees and S.Payton's system are PERFECT for each other, and makes the other guys much better than they otherwise would be. Again, this is a good thing. It can let you free up cap space to sign guys on defense knowing that you can do fine with lower priced guys on offense.

but so is Peyton Manning

I think Brees has more talent around him. He actually has a running game to fall back on. Also, after Reggie Wayne, I doubt many people could name another Colts wideout before the season started. Ok, probably Anthony Gonzales, but he has been hurt all year. I would say TE is a wash between Shockey and Clark.

Mike bell did pretty good in Denver his first year. Shockey is a former pro bowler with a fresh start in NO.
I do agree that Brees makes players a bit better, but to say that Brees is a one man team is just fricking ridiculous and if you agree with him then go back to the rant. Please.

Since Marvin Harrison went away Dallas Clark has been the best receiving TE in football. He is pace for 1400 yards and 120 catches!! that is mindboggling, and probably an NFL record for a TE. Shockey is having a nice year, but Clark is on another level.

Addai and Brown (injured) were also pretty high draft picks.

I think that has a lot to do with it. I am talking about overall talent. I think the fact that as a TE, Clark being on pace for those numbers proves that Peyton has less talent around him. I'm not so sure Shockey couldn't do what Clark is doing. I would probably take Clark over Shockey, but I don't think the difference is very big.

If Brees leads the Saints to the Super Bowl, I think he wins MVP. Payton has been there, done that.
