That isn't brees or vilma.

Not who is the best or will have a big year but meaning if we lost them for any reason it would have the biggest impact on the team.

My vote is jenkins because of what happened last year without him but what do y'all think?

I think Jabari is more important than Jenkins imo. Also it seems like our offense takes a step back when Colston isnt out there.

Great question. Jenkins is also my first choice. After Vilma, there really isn't much difference between the rest of the linebacker group. At running back we are quite deep with similar players in thomas/ingram/ivory, and it wouldn't be the end of the season if we lost a player along the interior offensive line

I will point out 2 players of note. 1 is Colston. If he goes down, we lose our big possession receiver, our guy who seems to be the only one who is not afraid to cross the middle, and our 1 on 1 red zone threat. Say what you want, but meacham and devery are guys that take the top off, and moore is an underneath guy. I know Colston has a propensity for injury anyway, but if he goes down it really asks a lot out of young guys like Jimmy Graham and Adrian Arrington.

#2 is Bushrod. I'm the first to say I don't think he is very good, not even in the top half on NFL left tackles. However, its the second most important position on any team and because Loomis signed him on again, I can only feel that Brown isn't ready. If he goes down, you lose Sproles as the 3rd down back because he's not as good in pass pro as the other guys and someone is going to have to make up for the weakness on the left side with chips, double teams, and even pickups after whoever is next falls on their face going against abraham, freeney, mathews, peppers, jared allen, mario williams, etc., even moreso than we already have to with Bushrod himself. Just my 2 cents guys. Sometimes the most important aren't the best players, its the ones that are the most difficult to replace

Bushrod is probably my second because I would be more comfortable with tennant coming in for an interior lineman than brown for a lt

3G has said in the past, that in order for his defense to work, it has to have studs in the middle (DT, MLB, Safety).

His first year, Vilma was extended to 5 years, and then he brought in Sharper.

So Jenkins would be my pick.

On offense, same winning philosophy of up the middle stability: QB, RB, Interior OL. So, I'd hate to lose pocket creators Evans or Nicks or Kruetz.

Outside of the QB, it's always the lines IMO.

So pick Evans, or Rogers, or Franklin whomever but a stud line makes everyone else look so much better.

It's why 2 years ago the vikings defense looked so good when in reality their secondary was pretty bad

I agree. The interior should be fierce on both sides of the ball.

I thought I read somewhere that believe it or not, pass protection is one of Sproles strengths.

The Saints are a contender, that means they have many more key players than Brees and Vilma. For example, Rogers and Franklin should help the defense a lot this season, but the defense really is dependent on the corners handling their business, so as much as we'll probably want to claim the new DTs are the X factor, this defense doesn't work without shut down corners. They're all important.

The same thing can be said on offense. Sproles has supposedly looked pretty good in practice and I think he'll be everything we've wanted Reggie to be the last few years, so he'll be the offense's X factor, but he's still only going to get 10 - 15 touches a game.

agree with HB, Hartley, no backup for him. It could definitely cost some games.

As is the case with many, if not most teams, the QB. Drew Brees
