Lol at anyone who thinks Harper is actually the worst. Have some of you actually seen some of the other safeties in the league?

oh great.

this has never been discussed on Saints talk, ever.

anybody bitching during/after a 38-17 win needs to have their nuts get stuck in a vise.

Yeah, horrible. He led the team with 9 tackles, had 1 and just missed another pick and had a 40+ yard fumble recovery called back.
And dumbass that wrote this. He played at LB today as well in some packages.
I wish guys like you would type the thread and before you send it, check it carefully, then kill yourself.

Harper could have been a better OLB

So your argument for that defense being so amazing is interceptions at key moments and giving up so many yards because our offense was so good?

And I know nothing about football?

stick to the rant...the modern NFL isn't about statistical dominance, it's about timely qb pressure, stops, and turnovers that give your offense more opportunities...see the last 3 superbowl winners

I think if he added 5 more pounds to "the neck" he could pay linebacker!

No.

I don't even feel the need to back this up either.

Anyone catch the C'mon Man! segment of countdown last night? Harper being run down by the Oakland FB made it, and to pile on and drive the point they showed the highlight where he was run down by a QB from behind (last year?).

the guy's a huge liability in coverage. Hopefully spags can find way to minimize it this weekend with VD running around back there.

We'll definitely need his run support though.

Yeah showing a highlight reel of a safety creating turnovers is sure a great example of his liability. Harper is a leader in passes deflected on this team, had almost 2 pics in one game, actually isn't terrible in coverage considering some other safeties around the league, and a beast in run support as well as blitz packages.

This board needs to get off this dudes nuts

I could have been more specific and said man coverage. zone appears to be a better fit for harper

I seriously thought this was the thread from earlier this year. Especially after reading this...

I swear this was posted in that thread almost word for word. How did we not settle this the last time?

It seems lately arguments never get settled no matter how much proof is given. Sometimes this board gives me hope it'll return to sanity, then it crashes again like waves crashing on a beach.
In other words:
And for one desperate moment
There he crept back in her memory
God it's so painful when something that's so close
Is still so far out of reach

He's definitely not the worst safety, but his liability in coverage is so heavy that it almost makes anything he does near the line of scrimmage a wash when you look at his game on the whole. Why else would some scrub named Quddus play on obvious passing downs?

Because he is a young, talented, full of potential free safety that is learning his place a sharing time with Jenkins and has no bearing on Harper?

Is there some reason you're so down on the team?

They seriously do. Is Harper a physically superior athlete, no but he makes up for physical defencies in his film study & mental makeup. Out of all the DB's, Harper was the first who showed signs of being able to grasp Spags schemes.

As of late, he's always in the right position to make a play & that's all you can pretty much ask for. Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't due to his physical lackings.

Harper is far from being the worse safety in the league just because of his mental preparation & awareness. I'd take a safety who is mentally prepared & is always in position over a physically gifted safety who blows coverages left & right, any day of the week & twice on Sunday's.

Where did you get that from? I'm loving what they're doing right now. That doesn't mean I still can't see flaws.
