This was addressed with Ireland's hiring. Now that we are getting talent. We need that right guys to develop it.

Last night we got a pick and the Offense managed to go three and out in under a minute.

That shite happens all the time.

I agree with whoever said it yesterday.

The offense had 4 turnovers and 10 points on a dogshit team. It takes a lot of balls to fire the DC and keep calling plays if you're Payton.

I'll accept Ryans termination if Payton hires an offensive coordinator and fires himself from that as well.

The problem on both sides of the ball is lack of talent.

That's why this can't be fixed.

I'd argue it is way more playcall ing on offense and young guys and underdeveloped players on defense.

All of these issues falling directly back onto Payton.

Why the hell is the defense blamed for everything??? Is the offense putting up invisible points I'm not seeing?? Do the turnovers make a defense's life easy?

The team is bad overall.

We invested a ton of money in the secondary. What has Allen done with those players? Would he be an improvement?

Rob Ryan and the D aren't winning us any games, but they aren't the reason we are losing games either. They created 2 turnovers in the 4th qtr against TB to give us the chance to win and our offense didn't do shite with it, and 2 turnovers yesterday in the 1st qtr that again our offense didn't do shite with. In 5 games our offense is only averaging 19.2 points per game, unless you have a top 5 defense that is not enough to consistently win games in todays NFL.

Rob Ryan's contract is up at the end of this year, while he hasn't done enough to get fired he also has not done enough to be re-signed. Dennis Allen will likely be our new DC.

Payton said after the 2nd game of the season in regards to play calling that if he couldn't get it done he would find someone who will, Carmichael, but for some reason Payton has not turned it over to Carmichael yet. While Payton's playcalling has been terrible this year and ever since his 1yr ban from Goodell, he does need to hand over play calling to Carmichael but I am not so sure we will automatically be putting up 30+ points again. When Carmichael was calling plays his pass/run ration was pretty high which made Brees have pretty good numbers but if I recall correctly our point total wasn't so high

They have had turnover there. Jeff Ireland is the head of scouting now and this is his first draft. I'm not sure how involved he is with free agency. I would say this draft has been more positive than the previous several. The players are at least on the field and making some plays.

When you have 5-6 rookies playing significant time on defense and now Peat is starting on the O-line, due to injuries; I'd agree at least for one year it looks like the scouting has made a turn for the better. But, the questions could be more of if this is a sign of great scouting or speaks to the lack of talent we had at many of those positions.

Good point. I see no reason from the couch to sack Rob at this point but then again I don't know how many screw ups are his alone or the young guys on D. We are scoring under 20 pts a game. Its CSP and his side of the ball that needs addressed.

1. Play calling
2. Brees must get rid of the ball via check down players available and throw aways
3. WR targets. Colston looks done. Where is Morgan Coleman and Jones?
4. Don't see much we can do without getting raped to improve the o-line or TE position via mid season trade. 1-4 also so why do it.

The offense has been more to blame than the defense for several years now. When you have an offensive minded head coach and an elite qb, said team should not go for long stretches with multiple 3 and outs

Think about what Brees does better than anyone else. He finds the open man. That's his bread and butter. He's holding the ball too long when he does get protection...and too often he doesn't have reasonable protection.

That's a talent issue, IMO. If he has a better go to receiver (just 1) and everything else is the same, I think the play calling starts looking a lot better.

Doesn't matter how much talent you have if you don't call a play right.

And we have some talent. We don't have Shannon Sharpe and Jerry Rice, but this is far from an unplayable recieving core. We should be calling short routes and letting Brees do what he does best, quick release and precision passing. We haven't don't that in 21 games now. And I can't understand why m

Yeah I mean bc dennis Allen was a boss defensive coordinator every where else and didn't just get a job with the saints bc he's Payton's buddy. He can't coach defense either.

I don't like starting threads unless it's absolutely necessary... not totally sure this fits here, but it's close enough.

Great quote from Cam Jordan

#Saints Cam Jordan asked about whether bad D stats can be misleading. To his credit, replies, "What's misleading about 39 to 10?"

Cam works his arse off. If we had a second competent person on the line or a dedicated end rusher to compliment him, he'd be blowing people up
