Is Drew Brees a top 10 QB of all time?

Got into a rather heated debate about this with some friends in that I think Brees is easily top 10 while they all disagreed.
When you look at it, out of all the candidates for top 10, Brees (imo) has had the least to work with out of any of them. Peyton Manning was pretty much dog shite in this last super bowl and definitely not spectacular in his win over the Bears either. Anyway, wanted to get all of your thoughts on it.

He's easily top 10. Numbers and a SB speak volumes.

Mike and Mike were talking about Peyton and Brady and their place in the all time list (both are top 3-4 according to them), and they mentioned a few more retired guys, and then Brees as a guy "in this conversation". Just fyi.
So other people certainly think he can be in that category.

I think currently he's around 9 or 10
But he's going to have the all time yardage record, possibly the TD record, a Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP, highest completion record as well
There was a thread on Reddit that showed the average defense Brees has had backing him was 20th. Out of all the big time QBs he's been stuck with the worst defenses by far.

1. Montana
2. Brady
3. Manning
4. Favre
5. Marino
6. Young
7. Elway
That's the 7 I essentially said were better but I put Brees at 8 and I feel like Elway and Young are arguable. Perhaps even Marino, but I may just be a bit biased.

Are these the QBs ahead of him on your list?
Brady
Montana
Favre
Marino
Elway
Young
Manning
Who else? Rodgers?

Amongst Saints fans he will be top 10 no question, but I don't think there are many people outside of NOLA that would say "easily" top 10.
In fact, I had a discussion with some Pats & Steelers fans and they both put him 5th on the list of current players. In no particular order, he was behind Brady, Manning, Ben & Rodgers. When you add some of the legends like Montana, Favre, Unites, Marino, Bradshaw (and I'm sure there are a few I'm missing), I think you will see a handful of people keep him just outside of the top 10.

Why is Unitas better? Brees would have been a god in that era if he played then. Sorry but when I hear "Unitas is better", I just think of the NBA ol timers hating on Steph Curry bc he didn't play back then despite today's athletes being ten times better.

He is undoubtedly better than Big Ben.
That's not even a discussion.

is this a serious question?
Marino is great, but he'll have almost none of the all-time records and no rings.
Brees is easily Top 10 now, he'll be top 5 by the time he's done.

Yes.
For sure ahead:
Manning
Brady
Montana
Marino
Arguable:
Elway
Favre
Rodgers(?)
even if you count Rodgers that's only 7 guys ahead of him, also leaving two spots open if somebody wanted to argue the likes of Bradshaw, Unitas, or even Young.

Honestly, I do not think Unitas, big Ben, Bradshaw even belong in the same class as some of those. I think Ben & Bradshaw were more a product of their systems (Great Def & running game) and think Unitas always gets the nod bc of respect for him as an individual. But, they were mentioned in the small group, and I think there are a lot of others that would put at least 1 of them in the top 10 if not higher than Brees.
I had Brees 5th on my list, I'm pretty sure my list was (Brady, Montana, Elway, Marino, Brees)

Rodgers is currently better, but he'll have to have the longevity to be all-time better
He obviously could surpass Brees in the future. Bias aside I think he will.

I'm pretty sure that Drew Brees has set a record for setting records.
How could he not be in the top 10?

Exactly.
Which is why when he retires, Loomis and Payton better look for jobs. No coach in the league is more overrated.
Down votes-bring 'em...

That's not on Payton. Look at how the offense is consistently good.
Management has fricked this team. Looking at you Loomis, and your shitty contracts
