If we're being honest he was def out of his element last yr calling games. Jim and Deuce just didn't mesh real well. He def could have gotten better as he gained more experience but I wonder if we will ever find out?

From the advocate article
quote:
McAllister will continue handling his duties as color analyst for Saints radio broadcasts, as well as his numerous radio shows. He'll also continue with his other business ventures.
quote:
"This was something that me and Will Smith had talked about doing before he passed," McAllister said, referring to his former Saints teammate who was killed in 2016. "Will and I both had kids here, and we were talking about doing camps. So this opportunity was perfect. He'd be happy to know I'm doing this."

If you can't type out the word definitely, you probably shouldn't start a thread.

Can you say that?

I'm not a fan of him on radio, but I say give him time. It takes a while and Jim is a pros pro.

Just need to give Deuce time. David Wesley was horrible when he first started calling games for the Pels, and he's done a complete 180.

I'm a fan just because I'm a fan of DM. Is he good at broadcasting? No, but it doesn't matter to me. It's nice to just see him still around.

Keep asking questions like this and Zimmer is gonna show back up on the board.
Is that what you want?

He was much improved by the end of the season and should continue to improve. It is not an easy gig to stay on your toes and fill up air space. It takes time. At least he is reasonably intelligent. Have you listened to the rest of the commentators on the sport side of WWL ?

He was outstanding in stepping in for Hokie Gajan when he was unable to work. He got better and better with experience and was thought highly enough that he got the full time job. He has an extremely bright future and could lead him on to other offers from other big networks, should he be interested.
Was much more precise with his analysis than Hokie ever was imo.

He knows the game and knows CSP's gameplay like no one else on WWL. He just needs to put it together with a slick tongue.

He does not have great rhythm , flow , voice etc... for an in game analyst yet but he could/should improve with experience.
Purely in terms of insight into the game I think he does a great job .
Nothing against Hokie ( RIP), but I think he's a clear improvement.

Deuce McAllister joins St. Martin's athletic department as consultant
New Orleans Saints Hall of Famer Deuce McAllister joined St. Martin's Episcopal School's athletic department as an athletic consultant, the school announced Monday afternoon. The appointment is effective immediately.
McAllister's position is effective immediately.
Drawing on his NFL experience as a running back with the Saints, McAllister will support the existing athletic department at St. Martin's by working directly with the football program's coaching staff and student athletes. McAllister will serve as a guide and mentor for St. Martin's student athletes, support the interim football coach with strategy and gameday preparation and assist with a needs assessment for the football program, equipment, and facilities.
"Mentoring the next generation of scholar athletes and helping them take their skill sets to the next level is my way of paying it forward," said McAllister in the school's press release.
