I think he is a great qb, but not the best to ever throw a football.

The politically correct answer is he is not worth that money if it prevents the team from getting better.

Stop bitching about his contract. fricking Ryan and Flacco are making what he does. Acting like he's overpaid is silly. That's the cost now.

compared to other salaries in the league . . . in other words, based upon the market . . . YES.

matt ryan has his team really poised for his 100 million contract

joe flacco doing all sorts of work for his 100 million contract

aaron rodgers all sorts of tored up shoulder missing games for his 100 million contract

tom brady's team sitting at the exact same 10-4 first place record for his 100 million contract

tony romo is another 100 million dollar qb.. and nothing more needs to be said here.

brees was severely underpaid his entire time in new orleans since 2006, and never once complained.. so the contract more than makes up for that.. especially considering since brees joined the saints in 06 no other qb had more wins than him up until the crap of last season.. now he has his team in 1st place in the south with a chance to clinch the division and the #2 seed.

right now he is

1st in the nfc in passing yards, and 2nd in the NFL to peyton manning. speaking of which peyton manning and his world beating broncos are 11-3 (one more win)

1st in the nfc in passing TDs, and 2nd in the NFL to peyton manning.

1st in the nfc in completion %, and 2nd in the NFL to phillip rivers.

among currently active starting QB's he is 3rd in the NFC in QBR

another good thing about brees' contract is it is heavily front loaded..

the saints need to really address that left tackle position

Yes as long as it doesn't effect putting the right players around him. We need three O lineman maybe 4 also could use two more play makers at wide receiver

It's going to be a rude awakening for some folks when #9 retires.

eli manning another 100 million dollar qb as well

out of the 100 million QBs there is none I would rather than drew brees. i could see the argument for rodgers, but again even brees is more durable.

peyton has nearly 4 years on brees and neck issues.

be thankful for brees. i know i am.

Yes,,,but some of his decisions to force throws into double coverages baffles me for a QB of his level.

Brees was horrible yesterday and is in a close race with Romo for most overrated QB in the league.

All of professional athletes are overpaid at the cost of the fans and consumers.
Just the way it is.

Brees is worth every dollar he is getting. Based on the market for QBs? Just because he has a bad day? Really? Really? With Brees at the Helm, this has been the best run in Saints history. Now we can say Who Dat!!!! Instead of other teams saying Who Dat??

The Saints are a a precision offensive passing team and Brees is the center of it. Disrupt him and get him off of his rhythm and this team cannot function.
Other teams will take note of what happened in St. Louis and the Saints must find a way to fix it. I almost wish Brees could warm up with his receivers using actual plays just so he'd be in stride from the start. I know..offensive line..not using the run from passing formations etc. etc. All I know..if Drew is disrupted, we lose. This being said..yes he's worth the money.
Throwing down the field right off was a mistake..the offensive pattern they should start with is using short passes and screens to get Drew's timing and rhythm right. The run will be essential too, but success in the short passes set the run up..not vice-versa. Move the chains just move the chains..and the big deep play will also show up.
