Now I know you have no clue. I think you're the one that needs to study things.

Why do you think RT and LTs are built different?

LEs are traditionally not elite pass rushers in a traditional 43 (aka non-Tampa 2). They are bigger guys that set the edge, keep containment, and use a power rush to either force a runner inside or force the QB to step up or take him if he is forced by an elite RE to roll that way.

He gets more pressures than sacks at this point. Probably won't ever be a prolific sack man but a good player.

I agree. He is only 4 games into his second season. Lots of upside.

So I guess Jared Allen, OSI, JPP, Peppers, Trent Cole, Jason Babin, I 'll stop there. Each plays both sides of the ends position and do everything I have identified. Is Jordan worthy of a number one pick to be a serviceable end? I would think that 1 round picks and the money they get comes with the expectation of more than serviceable.

Jordan Has 20 tackles this year and 10 are assists with one sack. He makes 750,000 this year with a 1.7 cap hit. The entire d line has been terrible. I have focused on him because outside of Ellis (who looks slow and uninspired) Jordan is the other number one pick on the line. You can't argue that we all expect more out of a first round pick.

Cam has done fine. Always room for improvement but he is one of the few defensive players to do his role. Ingram is a disaster on this team and needs to be traded away ASAP, and that is not me being worked up over the game. We need defense and he contributes absolutely nothing to our team

Jared Allen - 4th round, 1 sack, 4 tackles right now
OSI - 2nd round, 1 sack, 3 tackles right now
JPP - 1st round, 1.5 sacks, 15 tackles right now
Peppers - 1st round, 2.5 sacks, 8 tackles right now
Trent Cole - 5th round, 1.5 sacks, 10 tackles right now
Jason Babin - 1st round, 6 tackles 2.5 sacks
right now
Cameron jordan - 1st round, 23 tackles, 1 Sack

Only Babin and Peppers have a whole sack more than Jordan and he has more tackles than all of them. In fact he has more tackles than Babin+Peppers+Osi+Allen. That's a pretty nice stat.

Every name mentioned has had a hell of a career and are on the back end of their career with the exception of JPP. And you just proved my point that if all these guys have done that well with their careers we're hat because they were first round picks then we should expect that production form Jordan and I will have to check but I thought that Peppers, Allen, JPP we're pro bowlers in their 2nd year.

I think Cam is progresseing greatly. If he improves year to year like he has done from last year to this one he will be a dominant force in his career.

And almost all those guys are REs.

We all knew Cam would never be an elite Rusher. He does his job fine and is improving.

You need a 3Tech and RE to create the elite pressure. Both have been terrible.

He has more tackles than everyone on that list by 8. He has more tackles than 4 of them combined. He has 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery and believe it or not he gets pressure on the QB. He forces him to move or step up. He isnt just getting pancaked every down. Like someone else said, he is doing his job, the guys be hind him aren't. He is a good player and he will only get better. Is he a future HOF caliber player yet? no. Does he have alot of upside as a young talent? Absolutely. Is he a bust? Not by any means.

3 of them were first round pics. Jordan is outperforming all of them

Your persistence is impressive.

Don't you think one person would agree with you if you were right?

I think Jordan looks decent. It takes time to develop his position.

Legitimate question: why is Ingram or Jordan being mentioned after this abortion of an offensive game plan?

On a line that includes Ellis and Smith, this guy decides to whine about Cam Jordan.

You can argue the same for Ingram then. Terrible line, not enough touches, not flashy but does okay. That's what we want out of out first round picks.

Have you accepted that Jordan is actually not a bad player and not a bust yet?

Well considering Ingram is part of the abortion of an offensive game plan, I think it is relevant. Every time he comes in the game it is a run right up the arse of the center. That is definitely a problem. Especially when he is slow and soft.
