Apparently y'all think coverage is more important than pass rush! OK

The Pats won the SB with only 4 more sacks than we got last year. In todays game, excellent coverage will win games. Look at 2009 when we won the SB.

You know who was opposite Will Smith? Charles Grant. He avergaed 4 sacks a year under Payton. You know why the defnse was so good? Mike McKenzie, D. Sharper, T. Porter and R.Harper

This is not hard to see buddy.

I for once am very excited about the Lattimore pick for a few reasons. I think he is an unbelievable talent and we are lucky he fell to us. People say we need more pass rush, but a large reason we didn't have a strong pass rush last season was because receivers were getting open so quickly. We had a ridiculous amount of DBs get hurt, which only compounded our lack of talent in this position group. Lattimore (and Williams the 2nd round pick) not only give us more talent in that area, but also increase our depth so we aren't having guys start who would normally be on the practice squad. IMO the pass rush will improve if the DBs can give Cam and Co more time to get to the QB. Also, I am SO happy we did not pick a QB in the 1st round. Mahomes is a project, and honestly we have bigger needs right now. Next year there are a lot of better, more ready QBs coming out. We can get better value at QB next year

1) Lattimore is not even close to Patrick Peterson

As s rated prospect. Yes. He is.

False. In the modern NFL QBs get the ball out quicker than a pass rusher can get to him. We hit the QB a lot last year actually. We just couldn't cover anyone. It's called a coverage sack. Look it up.

3) there is a long history of CB failures

Irrelevant.

4)we have not addressed the pass rusher opposite of Cam Jordan since Cam Jordan has been here

Sure we have.

That's hard to believe

wonder how we can have only 76 hurries but 106 QB hits. It doesnt really add up, especially when you consider the teams with a lot of hits are also the teams among the leaders in sacks.

Please do not compare the Saints to the Patriots! Really!
Our SUPERBOWL defense was extremely average....it was the first and only year under SPayton that we won the turnover ratio ...and luckily for TD's....

So if sack leading teams should win games, why was Carolina and Arizona sitting at home? Defense wins championships and they had 48 sacks.

You arent making sense. Im not comparing us to the Pats. You here saying sacks make the difference. I proved to you it doesnt.

I never said sacks make the difference....
If it makes you feel better to prove me wrong, well good for you...
It's not about sacks....it's about pressuring the QB....
If you give average QB's in the NFL time, they will pick the best secondary apart

Why wasn't Lattimore the #1 pick in the draft?
What position was the #1 pick in the draft?
What position was the #2 pick in the draft?
Does this draft represent "today's NFL game"?

Wrong. Lattimore is big like Pat Peterson, and effortlessly fast. Both could play offense or defense. They are both freakish athletes. Not all top rated corners have that athleticism across the board. They both have excellent size and arm length, as corners, combined with freaky athletcism. Elite gene pool specimins, both.

Also both are extremely skilled and excell in man coverage.

Do your homework before posting dope

Pat pete, 4.34, 38 inch vert, and 10'6 broad jump at 6'0 215, 32 inch arm length

Lattimore, 4.36, 38.5 inch vert, and 11 foot broad jump at 6'0 193, 31'1/4 inch arm length
