if the Saints start 0-4, which is likely....then

trade Drew to the Bronco's or Texans. I hate to do it, but we could get some value at least before he walks.
Make it happen Loomis!

Could Brees approve a trade though?

The saints WILL start 0-4.

Potentially. But then you have to have both Brees and the Saints want to waive the clause and a team willing AND able to take on his salary. Iirc his base salary is quite large this year.

0-4?
Probably pick around 15th in the draft next year.

I think that we beat Miami. I think that they will be shell shocked with the way their season is unraveling and their starting QB is Cutler. Bradford is known to be accurate, Cutler not so much.

I'm giving them 4 games. If they start worse than 2-2 I'm out! frick all that say goodbye. This team has drained the life out of me the last 3 years. I should have said this administration has drained the life out of me!
fricking $8 mil a year for a coach who hasn't done jack shite in 3 years and one game!

0-4 and I will just have to laugh...that is what I do when I feel unbarrable pain.
And at that point...we need to Ned Stark Coach Sean Payton.

His base salary is only $13M this year since we restructured it with a $6M signing bonus so 19 total against our cap.
We are paying him like $45M, but most of that is dead cap money and would not be transferred in a trade.
9 teams could afford him straight up right now without pulling any cap magic: 49ers, Browns, Titans, Bucs, Colts, Jets, Packers, Bears, Jaguars.

No trade clause and he is a free agent after this year anyway.

Yeah I looked it up last night. And that $44+ mil was including part of last year (the base salary). After this year he is still on the cap $18 mil whether he is here or not.
And of those teams that can afford his $13 mil I only see the 9ers, Jets, and Jags as serious landing spots, none of which are contenders.
So as I said, it's extremely unlikely all the chips fall where a trade happens unless a team like the Broncos or Bills clears some cap.
