no chance even if she wanted to. NFL would never give her approval. The best thing for the franchise would be for Tom Benson to sell the team now. Avoid all this nonsense

I don't know the details of how all this stuff works, but I think this is pretty much the case. The Saints are pretty well entrenched in New Orleans with a lot of local support and at this point a pretty good streak of sold out games. I couldn't see them moving any time soon.

1. She isn't getting control of the team. The courts ruled Tom competent that pretty destroyed any chance she had of getting the team.
2. The NFL would never let her move the team. NOLA has good fan support and a city and state government that will bend over and spread for the NFL at a moments notice. The NFL is forcing the Rams, Chargers, and Raiders to jump through hoops to exhaust all options of staying before they let them relocate, they would never let a team leave NOLA with the current relationship between the team and governments.

It also sounds like LA will finally be getting a stadium and a team

So that piece will essentially be gone. People will say San Antonio, but Houston and Dallas aren't going to let that happen

Not to mention that NOLA is a great Super Bowl host site.

The NFL will let any team move if the deal is right. They let the original Cleveland Browns leave Cleavland. One of the original NFL teams in a passionate market with a regular sell out of games. Any team is for sale and any team can move.

Aren't we also locked into a lease with the dome until like 2025 or something like that? That plays a major role as well.

after LA is settled (Oakland, San Diego, and/or St Louis) I think the only team that still might move would be Jacksonville

As a Super Bowl city, I think the NFL wants a team and needs a team in New Orleans. I do foresee the day when a new stadium will have to happen in New Orleans. Superdome could still be used for a lot of events even without Saints as option.

Exactly.

And that lease is very minor in the overall deal. Just pay it off.

If Rita got the team, she'd be better off selling it to local interest who would keep it in NO & she can get more money

Different time, different NFL landscape.
