Agreed.

This team is so stacked. I can't wait to see what this defense is going to do considering it was one hell of an upstart last year.

We'd better win the Super Bowl to validate this theory

I have never seen a Saints defense with this kind of depth and talent. Every level of the defense is 6-8 players deep with high quality players. its unreal in a lot of ways.

as for the Offense...I can not base judgement on that yet. At the moment our OL depth is very thin. We still have no real idea about how C will pan out. Who will actually have that job and if they will mesh well with the Line while preventing middle penetration against elite level D lines....MASSIVE Issue a year ago.

Potentially yes this could be the best team we have ever had however I will remain reserved in my opinion.

Players need to put in some work and remain relatively healthy.

Will be close. Our offense took a nice dip last season and we basically have the same crew coming back.

While that may be true, I think continuity along the o-line all year will be the biggest difference. Plugging in Cooks with Graham, Colston, and Stills is gonna be fun as hell to watch

What's going to be interesting is how we do without the dynamic pass catching speedy running back. Our defense will be aggressive, well-coached and the best we've ever seen from top to bottom.

But there are huge concerns on offense. I'm curious to see what CSP will do without that Sproles/Bush figure catching 90 passes out of the back field. Our WR corp is good but not great. Stills is another year older but so is Colston, who recently admitted he won't even be 100% by season's beginning. Lance Moore is gone and expecting 60 catches and 8+ TDs from Cooks is unrealistic. All this comes with a thin offensive line as well.

I'm not saying we won't be good or can't make a deep run, but I don't think I'm ready to crown this the greatest roster ever assembled yet.

Tl:Dr version- our defense is going to kick arse in 2014; our offense won't be the juggernauts of 2009 and 2011 (but it may not have to be).

Moore didn't have 60 catches last season; he had 37 for 457 yards. Yes, I fully expect that Cooks can match that.

If there is a concern, it is still the running game. I think we can all now agree that Payton's offense has has some problems on the road...especially in bad weather. I don't trust Ingram and Robinson's kamikaze style, while very exciting to watch, is a recipe for injury just as it was with Chris Ivory. If we can't maintain a legit running game, we better get home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
