How do we get to 2nd seed, and failing that is 5th or 6th seed better?

We are not in any danger of missing the playoffs, unless Detroit of Greenbay win 3 in a row and somehow we lose the next two. Making the playoffs is an achievement itself after completely revamping the most atrocious defense in NFL history in less than one year.

The only question is how do we ensure 2nd seed in weeks 15 & 16? If we don't get 2nd seed, is it better to be 5th or 6th seed? I certainly don't want to be one and done.

We win our next two games, we get the 2nd seed.

If we lose and get the 5/6 seed, we will be one and done.

I believe if we win Sunday we clinch the 2nd seed and the Division.

Winning the next 2 games will ensure it

Yeah this week is all that matters for us win and we clinch the bye. If we lose we have to beat Tampa and hope for Carolina loss.

A win vs Carolina should be enough for the 2 seed regardless of anything else that happens

Yes. The other two division leaders have six losses. Saints just need to win next week and the Tampa Bay game is meaningless. If they lose to the Panthers then they'd need to both win versus Tampa and would need the Panthers to lose to the Falcons. If the Saints lost both games they could possibly be out of the playoffs depending on how the current three 6 loss teams finish and tiebreakers. It might not be possible so 6 could be the worse. Too lazy to look at schedules because if the Saints are the last seed I don't think it really matters.

We would both be 11-5

Our losses would be
patriots
Jets
Seahawks
Rams
Tampa

Theirs would be
Seahawks
Bills
Eagles
Saints
Saints

So next tie breaker is?
Division record?
In which we'd win

Or conference record?
Which we'd win also.

The Saints would win the tie breaker because they'd be 2-0 against the Panthers. Y'all are dumb.

^ That. Head-to-head is the first tie-breaker.

Sweet. It's nice to still control our own destiny even though it'll be a dog fight this weekend

also,
Well then how come everyone has been saying all week that we HAD to win 2 of the last 3 to guarantee division title?

Why haven't people simply said, "all we have to do is beat Carolina. We can lose to St. Louis and Tampa Bay."

edit
Nevermind, It's bc philly and dallas both were beaten today I'm sure.

Yeah y'all were over thinking it. The first tiebreaker is head to head record. The Saints clinch the #2 seed with a win next week.

Everyone was saying all week on here and on radio that we needed to win 2 of the final 3 to clinch the 2 seed. That's why people are mistaken. That was before Dallas and Philly shite the bed I guess.

They just said on the radio that a win this weekend @ Catolina does NOT guarantee a 2nd seed. Only a division title.

Who has to lose for us to secure #2 seed this weekend with a win???

That's because they are stupid.

If we win Sunday, the worst we can finish is 11-5.

The best the leaders of the East and North can finish is 10-6, since they already have six losses.

That's what I thought too, but they kept insisting on it so I had to come to trusty Saints talk for the low down

No shite. It's pretty simple. We have the better record so we get the 2 seed if we win Sunday.

Also, how long have some of you been watching football? If we beat Carolina twice of course we own the tiebreaker over them.
