Even if he goes to jail, he will be as good as Fortt or Tavon fricking Rooks

Seriously, the whole concept of drafting on athletic potential as opposed to collegiate production becomes really irritating after awhile.

Sure, you've managed to find a Graham and Armstead, but you have also selected a number of unpolished duds.

I think I would like to draft more sure bets in the 2nd and 3rd.

If he's there in the 4th, then I'm talking about moving up to get him. If he's cleared and all good, our Oline is set for years and years. Would be ridiculous.

im no CBA expert but unless there is something that address anything similar to this type of situation and he is indeed innocent of any wrong (which is the most important factor) I don't see him putting on a uniform for anything less than 1st round money.

You don't say.

Rookies are slotted where they are picked or if they are a UDFA. End of story. It doesn't matter what his "situation is".

He doesn't have a choice. He's not sitting out the entire 2016 season to enter back in the draft, because he wouldn't be picked that high next year.

He also becomes a RFA sooner this way where he can get that second contract. If he becomes a UDFA, he can even choose his destination.

1) no way he sits out. He'd be even less likely to get drafted high next year. Would benefit much more getting a year of his short rookie deal out of the way and getting 2nd contract.

2) what kind of precedent would paying a late rounder set for future negotiations (pretending there isn't a rookie wage scale making this moot).

3) if you're a guy legitimately drafted in the early rounds and some late rounder is getting a first round contact how in the hell would you respond?

But here’s the thing. A straw poll conducted this morning of a handful of coaches, General Managers, and other team executives resulted in a unanimous belief that Collins still won’t be drafted. At all. While that was the consensus during an off-the-record discussion, Saints coach Sean Payton said during a Friday visit to PFT Live on NBC Sports Radio that he believe Collins will be drafted — tonight, in round two or round three.

Again I will give anyone 4-1 odds that he is drafted in or before the 5th round. Any action?

My dream scenario is we package our 2 5ths & get him in the 4th. But don't think he last that long.

This is the right thought process even if there is a 50/50 chance he gets in trouble - you are still better than with Greg Romeus.

No team wants this mess on his hands regardless of talent. He's going undrafted

Just roll the dice! The players in the mid rounds are a gamble anyway. Why not gamble on a guy that has been clean all of his life? If it works we have the top G in the draft and if it doesn't it just part of it.

I'll give you 4-1 odds he gets drafted. Would you like to wager?

The answer is simple: he will sit out the season if there isn't enough money on the table.
