Like most of you, I have spent the majority of the day enraged by the unfair punishment of the Saints by the NFL commissioner. There is no way that this situation warrants a suspension for one year if the hoodie wearing Bandit did not get suspended for cheating by spying on other teams! However, moving forward understanding that there is no way to change the penalty, I feel the Saints should at least consider cutting ties with Payton all together. Rather than suffer through a whole season with an interim HC and a short handed staff, should the Saints think about getting a new HC? thoughts?

Who are you gonna get at this time, and how's he gonna fill out a quality staff, and that's gonna be better than Payton?

I hold onto Payton.

No way should they fire Payton. He'll be back in a year and Drew will still be here. Breaking up Payton and Brees is stupid IMO. Will the season with out him suck? yes. Should we fire him? Hell no. I dont think any HC or OC could come in here and be half as successful as Payton. He'll be back in a year, coaching with a vengeance, with the Team and most of the fans supporting him. I lok forward to that day in 2013 when he steps back out onto the field in the Dome more than anything. CSP has my full support/

Hell No, People make mistakes everyday, Remember 2005, Katrina, hoe this country was ready to forget about Nola. Then remember 2006, what it was like on Sept. 25, 2006. Nola was reborn, He is the greatest coach in Saints history. STAND by our coach.

In no way am I suggesting that I want to get rid of him, but Benson has to at least have thought about this. Do you not think the Rams will hire a new DC? In fact it is Payton's arrogance and unwillingness to acknowledge the problem that has led to the penalty being so harsh. From an ownership standpoint you would have to consider getting rid of an employee that is hurting your business.

Not just no, but hell no! Let Spags or someone else take the reigns for the year. Payton comes back next year. I think it would show piss poor character for the organization to fire Sean Payton. He's a damn good coach and that is a very shortsighted action IMO. I would SP for the long term.

I will take a losing season and a good first round pick with Payton next year rather than someone that is almost garaunteed to not be as good as Payton.

As long as Brees and Payton are together this team is guaranteed to be in contention. If Payton was a .500 coach, he'd be gone, but right now he's a winner. The fans are still behind him, and he didnt cover up for a pedophile. You keep him.

A MISTAKE? Are you kidding me? A mistake is drafting a player in the first round who never plays a down in the NFL. Running a bounty program which is clearly against the rules, then lying about it multiple times is not a mistake. It's a blatant disregard for authority.

The guy's a winner, I don't care what his relationship with his boss is like.

You know who else has a blatant disregard for authority...Belichik, Calipari,

people wouldn't have been ready to make Pete Carmichael Jr. a head coach if he weren't ready. Instead of cutting his teeth in Miami he has the keys to a Ferrari and one of the best QBs of all-time. He also has a DC with head coaching experience.
