here's a band-aid: Ed Reed

I don't usually post "should we's", but it's worth a thought, at least.
Ed Reed is about to be cut by the Texans LINK, and we coincidentally just lost Vaccaro for a couple games to a concussion. We're in the middle of a playoff run, and most of our safety talent is sidelined.
COULD we afford to pick him up? Would he help? Would it be worthwhile to grab him, with the thought to pair him with Vaccaro a couple of seasons... or is he shot as a player?

1) There's already a long thread on this.
2) He's being waived, so he has to go through waivers first.

Thanks Pat. I have tried repeatedly to change my name but Chicken will not budge. I picked my name back when I was actually in Afghanistan using the Pat Tillman USO computers to follow LSU and the Saints when I came across this site in 2005. Now it seems I am labeled as a bragger but I am not. Just love my Saints.
