I keep seeing this pop up in various threads. Does anyone have any credible info that he actually did this? TIA.

Kirby Smart, Alabama s puppet DC, said so. And then his dumbass told ESPN which bumped my hate for GW up to the 100th.

Just what I've read. Ironic that the Saints got burned on a QB keeper around the end.

From Joe Schad after the BCSNC Monday:

Kirby Smart says Gregg Williams of Saints helped w plan to contain option plays

Hightower said Saints plan basically called for defensive linemen to move further outside and Smart said it ran into teeth of their D

GW can pack his bags as far as I'm concerned.

Who gives a shite? LSU and the Saints have nothing to do with each other besides being in the same state.
Coaches get insight from other coaches all the time. Sean Payton himself used insight from rival coaches and execs in Parcells and Gruden

I do. But then this goes way beyond the LSU game.

he should have spent a little more time working on his own D...
since a lot of the saints fans are LSU fans, he is a dumbass..

You'll get no argument from me. After folding last year at Seattle (worst I've ever seen), and now this year at SF, it's apparent he needs to leave.
When your defense (every year) has to rush at least 6 to get any kind of pressure on a QB, and the leading tackler on your D is a safety, something is wrong.

Exactly.

So if he sucks so bad, you should WANT him to help Bama.

I usually don't like to hate on Saints or LSU players or coaches - but this week I've totally gone against it.
In this case, Gregg Williams cannot leave soon enough. Like I've said before, you can even take my LSU bias out of the picture - why is an NFL defensive coordinator even THINKING about helping a college team during the week of a divisional playoff game?
Combine that with the fact that all of this Rams talk has come out, it really makes me question GW's focus. Get the frick out.

GW needs to head to St Louis as quick as his bags get packed.

Yes, because answering a phone call or email takes so much of his time from the Saints...

And just why wasn't Les Miles picking Sean Payton's brain? Don't get me wrong; screw GW very much, but it didn't take a defensive powerhouse to shut down our crap offensive performance.

quote:This is so fricking retarded. Since when does Greg Williams, who has been a "pro" football coach since 1990, having experience stopping the option?
Kirby Smart says Gregg Williams of Saints helped w plan to contain option plays
That's just fricking dumb. If I wanted advice on how to stop the option, I probably could find hundreds of HS and college coaches with more expertise.
In short, I think it's all bullshite.
