Evans is killing us and getting people killed. No way he's here next year.

Let's see what picked end up with. End and 5-11 we might be picking top 8, no guard this year is going that high.

Good things we didn't take Collins in the 3rd-7th rounds.

We can make up for it with Vadal Alexander and placing him at guard. A big Mauler. Just like Collins and Trai Turner.

You can get a quality OG in Rounds 3-5.

We need help everywhere, but there are higher priorities.

But I agree. Evans should be "Kiffened" after the season this count goblin has had.

Well, he has played tackle his entire life and he's a rookie. I'm still confident that he will replace Strief when the time is right.

Vadal is projected to go late 1st round. I'll take him if he falls to us in the 2nd round(although he probably won't because he can play both OG & OT). Good value pick. I'm hoping for a beast WR, DT, or DE/OLB with our 1st round pick. A good guard can easily be found all the way to the 4th round...maybe even the 5th. Thankfully, OG is undervalued in the draft, while OT's are usually reached for.

As bad as our db's have been, we have plenty of them coming back for next year and probably shouldn't even use a draft pick on a db this upcoming draft. Front 7 on defense, OL, WR, and TE are more of a need IMO.

We need a new one for sure. Morstead makes way too much money. Good news is that you can draft a punter with our 7th round pick(maybe our 5th rounder if we draft the #1 punter in the draft...like we did when we drafted Morstead) and bring in a couple more guys to give him some competition. Kind of like the kicker competition this past training camp...hopefully we actually make the right decision this time. Kai Forbath kind of made that bad decision a little more easy to accept though.

I like the idea of an offensive line pick in the first round, but that being said, if the Saints cannot find another high quality defensive lineman in FA or the draft, the pressure on Brees and the offense will still be there to get int scoring matches...it's unsustainable.

Major problems all over the place

IMO ideal offseason scenario:

-Extend Brees and restructure a few guys like Jordan. Cut guys like Hawthorne and Colston that have expendable contracts that can make us $$. You can sit down with a calculator and free us 20-25 million in safe, non kick-the-can type stuff.

-In free agency, sign the best guard available. Right now, it looks like Alex Boone, but I don't know if he'll make it to FA since the 49ers just let Iupati go last year. Doubt they let Boone out too, but we'll see. Sign the top guy. Whatever it takes. If we can't get him, just get the best available. The other signing we need to make is 2 vet WRs. I'm not talking stars here, just guys who were early draft picks that didn't pan out (Ginn or Meachem or Henderson types) or middle round guys that seem to be pretty solid WR3 or 4's. We just need physical depth here.

-In the draft:
RD1: WR
RD2: DT/DE
RD3: Guard

We're golden in this scenario IMO. Obviously not like serious title contention stuff yet, but definite progress. It's going to take 2 solid offseasons to build a serious final title push team, but I think if we do the above we could at least make a play for a playoff spot next year.

How dare you?

He goes to LSU we should not even give him so much as a look as we've done for the past 10 years even though he's 45 minutes down the street!

You realize this is the mindset that has cost us year in and year out right? We need to grab an above average Guard at a cap friendly price. Some pissed off vet not resigned by his team will do. Then in draft you go:

RD1: BPA of WR/DT/DE or Jaylon Smith
RD2: BPA of one of positions not selected above or G
RD3: Guard/BPA

Guard is the only position I will be pissed with us not signing. Plenty of other need positions, but we have no starters and zero depth right now. I'd be thrilled if they were all off the roster next season.

OLB isn't as big of a need, but I would take him if we get lucky and he falls to us. He's one of those exceptions.
