hopefully, Atlanta will still suck next year. Tampa has defensive talent and a bright young QB, now with a solid coach. Next year gets tougher.

3 playoff appearances (yes, I know there's a SB appearance in there) in 9 years in Chicago. Mediocre IMO.

wasn't Revis supposedly not happy with playing more zone defense this year?

welp... Lovie is a Cover 2 guy.

wondered if they would go with an offensive minded coach, oh well.

This. Great use of a 16 million dollar player.

Guess Lovie is going to go with mixed coverage or risk wasting a shut-down CB.

FIFY

Tampa has a lot of young defensive talent and Lovie is a good defensive coach. But the Tampa 2 isn't the defensive hallmark it once was. I think they will still be a good defensive team, but I don't think they will be any better than an 8 or 9 win team year in and year out.

It will be interesting to see who they pick in the draft though, if a guy like Mosley, Dix, Barr or even Clowney falls to them.

So long as the Glazers sink more money into Tulane University than they do the Bucs I don't see Tampa being any sort of threat for a long time.

Ain't worried about Lovie. I think the division will be pretty similar as far as competition next year, ATL will probably be around .500 though.

I remember someone posting a link to a good write up about the Cover 2 defense and how it just isn't used that much anymore.

I think maybe it was back in Week 5 when we played the Bears from this season.

maybe it was a write up from Yahoo's Shutdown Corner? I don't know.

I think Tampa messed up firing the GM Dominik. He helped bring in a lot of that talent you're talking about. If they bring in that old GM Smith worked with in Chicago, it should get interesting.

Not impressed with Lovie. Good man, not much imagination as a coach.

Brees seems to thrive against cover 2 so I don't see this as a bad thing
