You can argue that they are one not dumb play call from repeating as champs. So I think the statement can still stand.

You can also argue that they lucked into a Superbowl, which they did. They lost the Superbowl as well. So no, it would be an incorrect statement.

False. They made the dumb play call, and didn't execute it. New England is champ until the new season starts.

You wanna make that argument for '09 as well? They made the super bowl in back to back years. Obliterated one team and was a hair away from repeating. Yes, New England is this years champs, but over the past couple of seasons, I'd argue for Seattle, as much as it hurts, to be the best team in the NFL.
