I REALLY hope there are at least some parameters of a deal in the works. If not this could frick us even more. Here's hoping to a better 2013 for Saints football.

I suppose the sooner he's allowed to return the more time he has to actually be allowed to dig in and fix some of this shite.

The most positive thing about this IMO, is if Goodell is ready to make this all go away then maybe we'll get our pick back too.

I think a lot of people are misunderstanding what they are discussing. From what I read (and please correct me if I'm wrong), but the discussions are about returning after the regular season ends, and before the Super Bowl, as opposed to after the Super Bowl which is what his current suspension is. We are pretty much eliminated from the playoffs, so we wouldn't be seeing him on the sidelines this year anyway, if they reach a deal.

This is correct. But I'm thinking when he can legally talk to players and coaches etc., they can start sorting through what needs to be done and the approach they are going to take moving forward. And I imagine the sooner this can happen, the better.

Definitely. Even if no contact at all can be had until after week 17, that extra month and a half to come in and go over this last season and start to prepare for the next one would still be huge.

He's going to end up saying, "Well, there's not enough evidence to overturn your suspension blahblahblah." I'm praying that he'll do one good thing and let CSP back.

Probably. But maybe he will see an opportunity to save face. Not that he's got much hope of that. But hopefully.

Would he even be under contract at that point?

I sure as hell hope so. This is all under the assumption he will be. Which I think I speak for most on ST in saying he will be back.
