That's actually a real rule. But it's hard to say he did that on the play.

ETA: the call shouldn't be reversed if it can be challenged.

right and im sure if he doesnt hurt himself he doesnt try and get up to run. doubt he was "giving himself up"

I think there is a difference in taking a knee (giving himself up) and injuring himself and fumbling. We'll see.

I've heard of it but at what point on a fumble can you claim "giving yourself up"? Just pretend you're hurt if you fumble and claim it.

He gave himself up when he realized he was hurt. Not a difficult concept, really.

Giving yourself up is when you fall down on purpose like a defender that picks a ball off to win the game. That was a fumble. Unfortunate for the chiefs and dexter mccluster but this fricking ridiculous.

What about when Eli manning went to the ground and the ball popped out before he was touched? Didn't they rule that a fumble a few years ago?

getting injured =/= giving yourself up
