We gave too many carries to PT. Also, Ingram was drafted higher than Ivory, therefore deserves more playing time. I don't care what the "stats" say.

His delivery is retarded but the recent phasing out of Pierre is baffling.

I'm just speculating about why the coaches would decide to bench Ivory for the first 7 games of the year and then still give Ingram the bulk of the carries once they finally start playing Ivory.

What ever happened to our best running back? That would be Pierre Thomas, somebody needs to introduce him to Carmichael. Ivory is a beast and needs more touches but our OC loves to see mini Kinbo Slice run directly into our lineman's asses for 2 yards. This is getting ridiculous how this guy is still on the field ahead of 2 quality NFL backs.

It makes no fricking sense. I honestly hate Pete Carmichael as a OC. He is failing miserably right now with adjustments, playcalling, personnel choice, etc...

He's been doing so well in recent weeks. His trade value is as high as it will ever be. I think we should trade him and Sedric Ellis for Ndamukong Suh and a second round draft pick.

Idk what's up with that but I'd guess they're trying to keep him healthy for the offseason or some shite but idk. Too many fricking running backs. Not a good problem to have

So the fact that the running game has helped bring the team back to competitiveness and Drew Brees has like 55 straight games with a passing TD and throws for monster yardage every game...we just hating all that right now?

Look, the offensive line is on it's 17th right tackle and they were never really a great run blocking group to begin with. It's not Ingram's fault that he has nowhere to go as soon as he gets the ball. I have no idea why that is...it's like defenses know what's going to happen.

BTW, the one nock on PC that I have is that when he does run, why is it always between the guards and never a stretch or off tackle run?

Id say the ingram/ ivory controversy has alot to do with that. Those guys were running harder than ive ever seen either of them run the past few weeks. We became a little more balanced in the first half over the last 6 games, which also helped. But the second half offense has been atrocious this season.

Sean Payton is mostly responsible for that. And Drew Brees is an animal passer, no question. I could call a gameplan and get Drew to throw a TD pass. Im not going to give Pete a pass because his QB is a super-talented animal. But balance and playcalling are what wins tough games. PC doesnt have that down yet. He has flashes of greatness, but then he fizzles. Its his first year without Payton, and it is understandable. But i still hate him for it.

PC has been fricking up in the second half all season. He changes his gameplan, takes his foot off the gas, or becomes one dimensional. You dont have to abandon the run game in the beginning of the second half because you are down.

I gotta be honest. I came here yesterday about midway through the first half to ask if PT was hurt or inactive. PT is our best all around back. Ivory is our best true RB. Why we continue to waste carries on Ingram so he can run into the back of O-Linemen, I'll never understand.

The playcalling yesterday looked really off. Carmichael had to know we were going to have issues running to the right side with a rookie starting. It looked like all the progress we made in the past few weeks was lost.

This loss rests in the heads of Carmichael and Brees. And that is why it feels so horrible. If the defense would have fricked up, we could have said "oh man, well they suck" and justified it, but when our offense plays games like they did yesterday it just brings up everything that you try no to think about concerning the offseason and the massive, gaping, vacant, creeping-death black hole left by Payton's absence.

I'm not so quick to put the blame on Drew (pick 6 right before the half not withstanding.) We cannot expect to be superhuman every game. I understand the score, but two pick6's didn't lose the game yesterday. Both happened early enough that we had a chance to make adjustments and find a way to get back in the game. But the offense played poorly. The playcalling was subpar. We had shitty breaks on penalties.

Its frustrating, no doubt. But I keep going back to the fact that this team even has a chance at a playoff berth without its head coach and the distractions that its had is a testament to the character of the players on it. Also, somewhere right now, Sean Payton sits in his Batcave, brooding. I bet the Saints have to hire someone Feb 4th full time to transcribe all the notes Coach Payton has made in the offseason.

A rested, dedicated Sean Payton that has had a football year of forced separation and watched his team fight against imploding without being able to do anything about it? The NFL should be worried. Very worried.
