I can see a few things changing, mostly on the PS(where I listed a few alternates in parentheses).
I think Griffin basically forced us into keeping 3 QBs with a poor showing the last 2 weeks. McCown has been the #2 guys in practice and in the games and while not great has looked more solid and consistent than Griffin.
That has a trickle down effect in forcing us to keep one less LB, but that blow is softened by the fact that most of our safeties can also play in the box.
I went with Edebali over Powell because Edebali has shown a little more and Powell looks like he is still missing some of his assignments.
It was a toss up between Jones and Kelemete for the last OLine spot. I think Jones has the edge because of his versatility(can also play tackle). But if Kelemete stays instead Jones will go on the PS.
Deaderick stays to give us another big body, but I could actually see Virgil sneaking in. If that happens it opens up a PS spot for Davis or another CB(or a Dlineman from another team).
Warren vs. Ball was the hardest decision and it could honestly go either way. With Ball being nicked up I think we may try to sneak him on the the PS to heal. If he was healthy I would put him in over Warren because of special teams(and that may still happen).
Neither Coleman nor Jones impressed me and I could see us going with just one WR instead, but I think the Saints like their size so one may stick with a slight advantage going to Coleman.
The OT PS spot is going to be filled by someone who clearly isn't ready. I'm giving the edge to Rooks because they saw something in him they liked enough to draft him for, but honestly this could just as easily be filled by an outside guy. If Jones is put on the PS we may only keep one Olineman which opens up a spot for someone else.
I'm not going to totally rule out Wade for a PS spot because the coaches like him, but Brooks has been the most solid and consistent backup CB throughout preseason and he was being raved about last year before getting hurt. Dixon has shown some flashes so he is definitely in the mix(and in front of Wade imo).
And on the kicker battle, it can honestly go either way. It was too close to call all offseason and for some reason I think Payton will go with the vet.

I don't get this logic. Griffin has looked off, so I doubt he's in any danger of being of being claimed off of waivers. He can go right back on the PS.

I agree. Shame too because I was pulling for him and thought he would win the back up spot based on training camp reports and the first 2 preseason games. But, based on his last 2 performances I would say there is a 90% chance he clears waivers and makes it the practice squad. I just can't see us keeping 3 QBs this year.

So I guess there was a game last night. Two of my friends from church were going to try to go to it, but I was already in New Orleans (drove back yesterday) and just didn't feel like going to a final preseason game. As cool as it is to go to the dome, that wouldn't have been worth it.

You made the right choice. I had to turn it off with about 12 minutes left in the 4th quarter. I'm a huge fan, and it was putting me to sleep. Just really sloppy, bad football.

Wow, we really need Armstead to stay healthy.

Stills being hurt is the major reason I see us keeping 6. Otherwise 5, it was a toss up between Meachem and Arrington (I mean Toon) for the 5th spot. I wish Jones or Coleman would have stepped up and impressed.

While personally I agree that we shouldn't keep Griffin on the active roster and he didn't look the part of someone who could get snatched up, this is what I believe they will do. I think Payton likes Griffin enough to keep him on the 53.
Now if he doesn't make it I would put another LB(Powell or Davis) or a 6th safety, with an outside chance of keeping an extra guard. I would lean towards them keeping both Ball and Warren in that case.
On Armstead, you're damn right because Strief would have to take over LT and Harris RT with Jones as the new backup. While Strief is a fine RT I have no desire to see him face speed rushers.
On the receivers, Stills being hurt is part of the reason I kept 6. If we were to keep 5 I would think Toon gets cut and we try to get him to the PS squad (he's eligible for one of the two new spots).
Again though, this is what I see them doing and not what I would personally do.

Just because? Doesn't make sense man.

Because St. Louis tried to snatch him last year and they are in the same boat again this year and I believe Payton really wants to try to groom this kid and doesn't want to risk losing him.
Just because he had two bad games doesn't mean teams no longer see anything in him.
Edit:
And to be more specific, he has a big arm and good accuracy (especially on the deep ball) if allowed to set. Teams are willing to take chances on a guy like that because they figure his decision making and consistent will improve with time. There is much to work with.

We can't afford keeping a 3rd QB, especially when we've got Stills nursing a quad.

ryan griffin has more talent in his pinky ring finger than drew brees has entirely
he also ain't gots all dem keeds

Who are we losing though? A project LB or yet another Olinemen that won't be active on game days? Maybe the best player we lose is Ball or Warren but we aren't keeping 6 safeties active on gamedays either.
So in this case they try to keep the guy they like the most that they think may get snatched up. I believe that's Griffin. Not saying I agree but no matter who gets that final spot they won't be playing on gamedays anyway.

I don't think we will. I could be wrong. We'll see.

I'm not saying I'm 100% for sure right. It was definitely the last spot on the roster and that very last spot is always hard to get.
It's usually more about who they can sneak to the PS than who will help them this year. KRob didn't start getting snaps until the end of last year for instance. And Arrington was kept after his PS eligibility was up but I don't think he was activated once.

This is the only reason I can see us keeping 3, and if we do I think it will only be for a few weeks. If it wasn't for the team who tried to sign him last year needing a QB, I think he would be waived now for the PS.
ETA: IIRC, there were a few other teams besides us interested in signing Ball this year, so sneaking him on the PS might be difficult.
