I posted about Spencer yesterday and someone provided a link where a Dallas sports writer projected he would sign somewhere btw. 10-12 millon. He may be out of our price range. When Jets went to 3 4 didn't they want to use Vilma at outside lb. This would solve the problem on him taking on guards.

i just want to stay on topic, i hate all of the posts where people critique the words like they are bad-asses and distract from the conversation. just post if you have opinions on the topic and quit acting like your balls haven't dropped yet.

Why don't you capitalize the first letter in your sentences? What makes you think a comma is an appropriate substitute for a period? Completely unreadable. F minus minus. 2/10: would not read.

I take them with a grain of salt, it's guys like Todd Archer and Brian Broaddus that i give a little merit to. I am a Saints fan, i just love hearing Cowboy fans bitch and complain.

Spencer is overrated. He had a stretch in '09 where he started to shine and then has been an above average player since then. The problem is that he has been playing opposite an All-pro in Ware, yet he has not been anything but above agerage. That begs the questiong if he couldn't take advantage of that situation, how productive would he be if he were paired with unknowns and projects? This is the problem here. If he comes at a reasonable price, then I am ok with the signing; however, if he is being sought as the answer at OLB, then a mistake is being made.

He had a very good year this last season I thought? I seem to remember the commentators mentioning how he finally seemed to put it all together and be consistent

Pretty much but man he was a terror in the second half of 09. Helps when Demarcus ware is on the other side.

Spencer had his best year as a pro last year. he is 29 years old now and probably has two more peak seasons left in him but his market value is sky high. saints will have to pay up for him.

Anyone who watched the games last year could tell he was the best player on the field in every game for Dallas after Sean Lee got hurt. Ware wasn't near as effective as AS

Exactly. His best season was this past season, when Ware was hampered by injuries, not playing all that much, when Dallas lost a bunch of Defensive players. So he put up stats while being the only player out there on the defense Offenses schemed around.

As far as need and fit, yeah sure, doesn't take much insight to see that

Contract wise I dunno where Loomis would find $10-12 million when already well over the projected cap

Lastly, he turns 30 this season and most characterize him as finally getting it last year. Before then he was underwhelming.

If spending that kinda money I'd rather Kruger at 3 years younger

More realistic would be Victor Butler from Dallas. Brees & Sproles might recruit Charger Shaun Phillips who would be a great vet with gas left that won't be bank busting like Spencer or Kruger.
