First thing I'm doing tonight is re-watching some Emmanuel Ogbah. Times/tests/drills better than his film

6'4 274 ran a 4.64

He absolutely killed it today

Any thoughts on him at 12?

I think he's in play, as well as Leonard Floyd who had a nice day as well

Rankins, Shaq, and Ogbah all helped their cause in Indy.

Dodd better light up his proday because his effort here has left me underwhelmed so far.

Nkemdiche also tested really well but we already knew he was a freak athlete...His numbers are eye popping but so is his lack of production.

His lack of participation in general. He ran an ok 40 and has thus far sat out of everything else.

I would like to see some of his workout and see some of numbers...unless he is waiting to showcase at his proday and is simply maximizing facetime with coaches, GM's, and scouts.

Well I wonder which 12 minutes of film he was studying because he was VERY productive and a guy you had to specifically prepare for or he would crush dreams.

I've watched him play several times...Usually pay the most attention to him vs. TCU, obviously. He was a MONSTER his Sophomore year and even BIGGER moster this year as a Junior.

They moved him around the line more this year as Offenses tried to find solutions. Double-teaming him worked earlier in the season but you could tell he was learning to refine his techniques and beat them by the last few games.

Hopefully this "expert" notices, upon 2nd viewing how often he was dropped into coverage. Well above average for the position. He had the short area quickness to cover RBs in the flat or TEs underneath.

It never occurred to me that he was flying so under the radar outside of Big XII territory.

That being said - I would NOT draft him at 12. He was blessed with incredible athletic ability He still has a lot to learn and I think he's going to be a Late Year 2 or Year 3 bloomer... Something we don't have the luxury of considering.

My 2 cents.

Also worth noting, Emmanuel Ogbah had the third-highest pass rushing grade in the draft class among edge rushers

Be careful not to assume a player is automatically going to be a stud in the NFL because he has an awesome Combine. There have been plenty of players who impressed teams at the Combine, but were not good NFL players. It's one thing to be fast, strong, and athletic, but translating those physical skills to actual games in the NFL is a hard process.

I've always wondered why participants in the Combine don't wear a full NFL uniform, including pads and helmet, during their drills. They won't be playing in their tee-shirts and shorts on Gameday, ya know?

because the combine, in essence, is a scientific experiment. You dont want variables in this experiment, you want everyone on the same playing field. The data is used to compare players of old, and players in the current draft. There is no need to see them do this in pads.

That's what the regular season of college football is for. The coaches/scouts have video of every game they play in to evaluate them.

Honestly haven't watched much of Ok St the past couple of seasons, but his stats look really good, and his size for the position is very ideal. However, I remember after this last season there being some media guys saying they wouldn't touch him until the late 2nd for some reason. Might have to go back and watch some of his games.

EDIT: Here's one tweet from Matt Miller about him. I don't always agree with Miller, but dude does his homework and can usually back up his opinions.

I can't put Emmanuel Ogbah in my top 50. Someone needs to tell me which games I'm missing on him.

The talk around Ogbah is that he takes plays off. Doesn't have as a high of a motor as people want. Very talented kid but, I don't know yet if the work ethic is there.

Good first hand report troubl

I like him but #12 seems too high. Think he will be gone before #47.

in fairness, they mentioned with prospects that you gotta think about where player played and conferences. BIg 12 or whatever they are has a lot of spread offsenses, balls out of qb's hands quickly. Read into that what you want.
