Heard on Dan Patrick show that Drew Bree's made twice as much in salary this year as Newton, Wilson and Kapernick combined. Drew 18 million, Newton 7.5, Wilson 860,000. And Kap 1.3 million. Kap and Wilson still on rookie contract.

It may be commonly known to you, but most people have a life and aren't living and eating football 24/7.

All 3 are on rookie contracts. That is the difference between a 13 year vet with a super bowl ring who is a future HOFer, a #1 overall draft pick still on his rookie contract, and 2 guys that weren't drafted in the first round that are still on a rookie contract.

Guess who else doubles up on those 3 combined.... Peyton Manning, Eli Manning and Matthew Stafford.

Next season that list will include:
Jay Cutler -- $22,500,000
Ben Roethlisberger -- $18,895,000
Tony Romo -- $21,773,000
Eli Manning -- $20,400,000
Aaron Rodgers -- $17,900,000
Sam Bradford -- $17,610,000
Matt Ryan -- $17,500,000
Peyton Manning -- $17,500,000

$18 million is a bargain for Drew Brees when looking at most of that list.

It isn't the Saints fault that QBs are going for the price they are these days. They had to pay the man.

Not all teams have the same luxury that the Pats have where their QB's wife makes $42 million. Otherwise the Pats would be paying $20 mil a year too.

Great post.

Also, next year you know who will double that?

I'll let Gary tell you.

Sorry to the OP, if we were pricks. It just seems that there are alot of threads that get started around here that try to slam Drew's contract and make incorrect assumptions about it.

Newton, Wilson & Kapernick's career < Drew's career

Drew's Contract > Staford, Romo & Cutler's Contract

Sounds like the Saints and Drew are doing pretty damn good by one another.

Those 3 are not on Brees' level and will never be on Brees' level. Colon and Russell are shitty QBs hiding behind a lot of talent. Cum is no better but in his defense the Panthers are not as talented as the other two teams.

It will be Drew's decision to restructure his contract. He is worth every penny for what he has done for this team and city and state. He will!

I wasn't trying to slam Drews contract. He is worth every penny. I was more shocked to see the amount Kap and Wilson were getting. That's about to change come contract time.
