I'd still consider it empty stats since we were out of the playoffs for most of those last 5 games of that season. Drew had a few duds before then.

How can the Saints not field a competent defense, and LSU not field a competent offense? Long year for La. football coming.

This is the NFL.

If by a few, you mean 1, vs Houston, without Armstead and before this offensive line was put in place. In the 8 games before those last 5, including the Houston game, coming back from the shoulder injury:

228/328 (69.5%)
324 ypg
18 TDs
8 Ints
101 Passer Rating

After the injury to now (13 games):

402/583 (70%)
360 ypg
34 TDs
9 Ints
106 Passer Rating

So still incredible despite your laughable bs

People who actually whine and aren't trolling about this guy are laughable. Completely laughable. Dude is close to perfect as you can get in QB play

Ok, so if that's your measure of "empty stats", what about most of the years for Marino at Miami and Favre's last couple of years in Green Bay? Do their contributions to the game and their outlandish statistics now not mean anything? That has to be the dumbest f-ing statement I've ever seen. You're basically saying 2/3 of the NFL is providing meaningless stats. While we're at it. Why not move to single game eliminations? Hell, 2/3 of the teams are meaningless.

Jesus f-ing Christ. Stats are stats.

He has been good. But my prediction is this:

Even with the worst QB on the planet, our record wouldnt be any worse this year. I know that is a crazy thought, but it is my feeling

Too bad he is no longer good enough to overcome the mediocre team we are forced to put around him.

Don't act like Drew did not bring this on himself. Had he offered to redo/extend his deal prior to the FA period, maybe we have the funds available under the cap to add to our D. Maybe we would not have signed anyone additional during the main FA period. Who knows.

We may have had a better chance at Josh Norman. Instead of going to Washington, Norman comes here first as an F You to the Panthers and we don't let him leave without a contract. He probably didn't come here because he didn't think that we had the cap room available. Same for Josh Sitton.

I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact we are going to miss the playoffs more than we make it with Brees. In todays NFL, that is a fricking disgrace. The other big 3 QBs managed to make it at about a 95% clip. Drew and the Saints will be at 45%

He offered last year and the FO said they wanted to wait until this year. And, his agent submitted a response before FA started and the FO waited until the summer to even begin negotiations.

Reports were out before he signed that our offer was comparable to Wash's.

Oh boy. Please explain why the Saints are "forced" to put a mediocre team around him. I know where you are going with this but please lay out out for us.

Impressive yes but I'm curious how much of that came against "prevent" defense?
