Early on predraft 2011 many of us were hot on Aldon Smith as a potential draft pick. His stock rose dramatically after the combine and he wasn't a possibility after that. But still, what a mf playmaker. I'm still very happy with Jordan. You can see him developing before your eyes.

Early on when we had a 2012 2nd Rd pick prolly the favorite choice here that looked to fit the value & need was LB Lavonte David. He's a bit undersized but has one of those non stop motors. Today I see he is the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month with 47 tackles with 5 for loss. Credit the Bucs for trading up to get him. That pick was one before the Saints vacated 2nd Rd spot.

Either one of those guys would have had a huge impact on the Saints D. Not so much those guys specifically but getting that kind of player. 2013 has to be the year we get a player who steps in as a starter day one and is high impact playmaker. It might be a FA like Freeney, Henry Melton, Shaun Phillips, or Connor Barwin. It might be a Damontre Moore or CJ Mosley in the draft. I don't really care who or how. I just wanna see a playmaker on the D side who has to be accounted for like Graham or Sproles on the O side.

Would love to get Moore. If that Elam dude from Florida comes out I hope we nab him. Dude hits like a monster and we need S help. Wouldn't mind picking up another LB somewhere but not really who'd be the best for us

Oh and of course the badger in the later rounds.

We have some solid players to like a lot. We have some that have a lotta upside potential. We have some that are on a good developmental track (like Jenks). I'm still looking for the straw that stirs the drink player though. Sharper was in that range though he was on his last legs (literally). Whether on the backend like that or a disrupter up front that has to be accounted for every play I don't care. But it's sumpin in that line that is the missing link to nudge all our solid and developing players over the hump. It's that close to seeing a dramatic difference on D IMO.
