It's not Dennis Allen's fault. Perfect example of this is the Giants. Please tell me how Spagnola was Giants DC and they win a super bowl, comes to us and has the worst D ever in the history of the league and then goes back to the Giants and last year has the 2nd best Defense in the league? Giants offense was 26th in scoring at 19.7 points per game last year. Think about that for a second.

We have shite players, every single one of them on Defense is shite including Cam Jordan and Vacarro. We have NO pass rush at all for the last 5 years. NONE at all. We have had numerous first round picks and again every year we do not draft a pass rusher. shite drafting and shite players has always been the problem on D and now on offense.

Jordan is very good but one player can be neutralized.

I like three players on defense going forward
Jordan
Rankins
Lattimore

Maybe Williams and also Breaux 2015

But the linebackers still are subpar and d-line is thin.

Dennis Allen has to get some blame. There was a play in the 4th quarter where the pats were so injured that they split their fullback out wide. And we still gave him a 10 yard cushion. A fricking full back. He ran a little hook and caught an easy pass. A full back out wide and you give him that much cushion?!?!?

Cam Jordan is good but nowhere near exceptional

He's the #2 end at best on any other team. He is not an elite pass rusher by any means.

He ain't lying.

Cam is a little overrated on this board. Vacarro though. I'll never understand the love he gets. Can't cover shite. Takes shite angles. And tackles like a bitch.

Jordan led all 3-4 ends in QB pressures (70+) last year. He's elite.

Probably half those pressures ended up in touchdowns so he was close but not quite good enough

Its not the players. We have all new players and they are all more athletic than previous years. Its the culture. It starts with Payton. Think about what he did to K.Lewis and Breaux this year. You dont think the players see through that bullshite? Bountygate killed any chance of an aggressive defense.

We will get the same excuse every week. Have to look at the tape. The tape is probably GOT episodes because nobody on either side of the ball knows what to do.

last 3 years 2014, 2015, 2016, we had a pretty good D in 2013.

This year we're getting pretty good pressure. QBs just attack the weak link in coverage because of busted coverage or just knowing Vaccaro and Harris will be out of position or Klein on a WR.

you telling me that WR's just running fricking free every play is all on the players?

the players arent great but the defensive backs have been out of position especially. You cant even tell who is messing up because they arent even close to the WRs

BS, spag came here during paytons suspension year and then was suddenly told to take over the team he had no part in building with no warning. he had literally a dumpster fire left behind by Williams and the bounty thing blew up our defense.

payton comes strolling back the next year and fires him, which was totally unjustified, because that year was a total scrub, and you cant expect spag to do anything with the dumpster fire dumped into his lap, yet he was fired by payton for not magically somehow taking the team to the playoffs

spag got a raw deal here, and he never got a fair chance to do anything. weather he really tried very hard or not, is questionable, and I think its fair to criticize him for that part, but I don't blame him for seeing he had no way to succeed and just went through the motions that year.

I think if payton had given spag a reasonable chance to turn the defense around, we would have a great defense right now, instead payton had to fire him to show he was back in charge

He's the one really good player on defense. The young guys I won't judge yet.

Nah

He's the only player on our D that could start for every other team.

He does all of this with very very little help. Which is what makes it more impressive.

The few dumbasses in here who think he isn't an excellent player who would start on every defense in the NFL. He's one of the few things this organization has gotten right over the last few years.

How you got 7 up votes calling Cam "shite" is amazing and sad.

honestly, how long is it before Cam gets sick of playing for our terrible defense and being the only threat on the d-line year after year and demands a trade?
