Not taking into account potential upcoming cuts that would add on to what we are already looking at, what kind of dead money are we set to enter the 2017 season with leftover from Jimmy, Gallette, etc?

Look at the Pats. Sheesh, that's cap management there. Superbowl Favorite this year and LOADS of cap space and very little dead money.

Loomis needs to take note.

Full Disclosure. I am a Pats fan.

btw, the 49ers job has got to look attractive to a coach. Great market, great location, no need to keep most of their players, high draft pick and over 80 million in cap space.

wow, with us having only 9 mill in dead money and the cowboys being 5 1/2 mill over the salary cap in 2017 plus they are in playoffs, it seems they will have trouble holding onto players so "maybe" there are some offensive and defensive line players they cant retain that we could grab?

I'm pretty sue Lael was sooooo pissed at BRPD and an apparent "aloofness" of the Saints staff....he just wanted to get out of this state !

They definitely do something right. Do not let players hold them hostage for contracts. Bill B gets rid of them while they have value and before they have to really pay them. Goes to their evaluation of talent that they just put the next guy in when they get rid of a player.

The 2016 draft was good and the dead $ while still high is lower next year so that helps.

I think ChadBoy had a good breakdown of it in another post last week.

If I'm using this right it looks like the Browns will have 110 million in cap space this offseason

Damn Patriots. Those bastards compete year in and year out with huge cape space and no dead money. Meanwhile we give out bad contracts left and right and go nowhere.

According to your link, the Saints have by far the worst Dead Money situation in the league. Over $9.1M. The next two worst teams TOGETHER have $12.3M.

We're Number One, We're Number One!

And an owner that single handedly destroyed the team because he could not get along with his HC. He picks his pain in the arse GM over Harbough who he ended up firing anyway.

9 million seems like a party compared to the last few years. I'm assuming that number will grow as we cut some more deadweight.
