quote:

Darren Sharper is in tears. Apologizes '1000 times' to his victims. 'They didn't deserve anything, being a part of my heinous decisions.'

quote:

Darren Sharper, now 41: 'I still don't know why I lived my life right for 38 years, and then I took this path.'

quote:

Darren Sharper: 'This is all on me. I take full responsibility.' Atty. now arguing that Sharper's willingness to testify vs co-defendants co-defendants who pleaded guilty, should merit Sharper consideration for lower end of, if not below, 15- to 19-yr. range he faces.

quote:

One of Darren Sharper's victims is about to address the court.

quote:

Victim ends lengthy address to Darren Sharper by telling him to 'go to hell.'

quote:

Darren Sharper is sentenced to more than 18 years in prison.

I haven't followed this case much at all, but I see this line...

quote:

In his federal plea, Sharper admitted to three counts related to a conspiracy to ply women with drugs such as Ambien, Xanax, Valium and Ecstasy to prime them for sexual assault.

...and I have a question for those who followed more closely than I. Did he just have a party where these drugs were available? Or did he secretly drug these women without their knowledge?

He did this to women all over the country, so the latter.

Something seriously wrong with the man. I know rape isn't a crime of lust, but no homo, Sharper is a good looking dude who should have no problem getting laid, so obviously something else going on there.

agree 100% but he said it himself. He lived his life correct for a large number of years and then all of a sudden he starts doing this....It's what I don't understand about the whole thing. he is attractive. I saw him pick woman up. And then he drugged them after getting them home.

Ugh just makes me feel sick.

Social personality disorder. Despite looks, dude couldn't pull arse because he had no game. That creates a social disconnect which can develop into a sexual frustration and blame towards the female for his own personal insecurities. Seems like it festered for a while and he acted on his frustration. What I dont get is why guys like him with tons of money don't just pay for escorts? No ground game needed. Just a visa card. Maybe he did it for a while and it just didn't satisfy his mental. Revenge at women for being a fricking social weirdo. He is a POS and should not see the light of day again IMO. He should have had more self control and gotten help. He deserves every minute of that light sentence.

Who knows? Maybe it's a bit easier to pickup women when you tell them you are a CURRENT NFL football player vs. a FORMER NFL football player. If it is true that this all happened after he finished his career, then that could be the explanation. It doesn't justify any of it, but many of these guys go from figurative "kings" making 6 figure salaries to "has been's" virtually over night.

What was that story about Tiger Woods hanging out with Derek Jeter and somebody else and Tiger asked them how to improve his game. They said "say you're Tiger Woods".

Just show them the ring.

He thought he was above the rules of society and is getting off light. Shame, we should be able to talk about him as one of the key factors in the 2009 season. Instead, we have to either ignore him or add a 'yeah, but' to the conversation. Go back and look at his stat line for that season. One of the finest years ever by a safety in the NFL

It must've just gotten boring for Sharper just having anyone he wanted. I mean that dude got more attention from the ladies while he was in Minnesota than the QBs. After the Super Bowl every woman and gay dude in south Louisiana wanted him--and half the straight dudes. There is just no logical explanation for his behavior other than complete batshit insane deviance.
