If the Saints take a first round QB then they must be trading Brees. That is all there is to say. I think Brees is a top tier QB for several more years personally.

Great. A small program QB operating a QB-friendly spread offense.

What could possibly go wrong?

Grayson might have been the worst pick in the Sean Payton era. He will probably never see a meaningful snap in the NFL. Hope I'm wrong but it seems the writing is on the wall

What is this based on? Are you in the facility watching him practice?

Make no mistake, Grayson was 100% a project pick. Kid has potential but needed work. Anyone who watched a drop of his tape could see this. But since we live in the world of instant gratification draft picks these days, if a guy isn't a day 1 starter he's a bust, I guess?

I may be the biggest GG18 drum beater here... I'm not going to stop telling everyone that he is better than you think, and you need to have patience, we will see it... but I'll say that there is one technicality of a reason that let's me allow that this is even a possibility.

Players taken in the 1st round have the 5th year team option in their contract.

This has nothing to do with Drew leaving after this season, or being traded. He isn't going anywhere.
We've talked about his extension or new contract getting him to all the records.
quote:

3 just decent Drew seasons left, and he can retire:
1st All Time: Completions, Yardage, Yards per game, Passes completed per game, Completion %
2nd All time: Touchdowns, Pass Attempts
Top 5: Passer Rating
NOT Top 10: Interceptions
Then Tom Brady goes and signs his extension that has him playing FOUR more seasons, through 2019-20.
So, after this season, not to be outdone, I think Drew signs a 3 Year - $75 Million Dollar deal. Four more years of Drew keeps him in front of Tom for all the production records. If he plays that deal out, GG18 would have been already gone for a year by the time #9 retires. GG18 will smartly go take that Chase Daniel money with Lynch in the wings. Paxton Lynch, who doesn't get to walk like Osweiler in Denver.. because we have that 5th year option on him. If Drew retires anytime before his new deal runs out, it's a GG18/Lynch battle, or just Lynch. Asses covered. Seems unlikely to me, but it is a worthwhile narrative that drives up the price of Paxton Lynch, to a team that really does want him.

The problem is you are stupidly (as usual) posting shite as if they were facts and act like some sort of know it all.

1. Grayson(or any young QB) was not going to learn one of the most complex offenses in the NFL in just a few months and beat out a 10 year vet that has multiple years in the system. It was not going to happen.

Flynn is not even the team anymore and was a stop gap due to LMs surgery.

LM was paid chump change for continuity

I see a team rightfully taking time to actually develop a prospect and doing due diligence.

The offeseason program has barely even started, how could you or even they know how much he's progressed?

This is typical draft week drama and you're falling for it.

Flynn also had a lot of field goal holding experience

I doubt we go QB. This has all the signs of us trying to get someone else interested in moving up so someone else will fall. Us meeting with him 3 times, leaking reports of him being the pick all smell like our FO trying to get someone else interested in him. Payton plays things very close to the vest and I doubt there would be any real leaks to our actual interest level in a player.

I'm pretty confident Goff, Lynch and Wentz will go top 10.
