CSP vs Les Miles
Posted by blueboxer1119 on 11/29/15 at 12:35 pm212
Miles has a terrible O every year and doesn't make changes. Everyone wants him fired.
SP has a terrible D every year and cant fix it, but people think he's the savior
Both have a championship.
Somebody explain the difference.

Nfl vs college.
Payton resurrected a team, miles got the keys to a well oiled machine

And i dont see anyone claiming payton as a savior right now. Both have their haters and pumpers, stop being ignorant

Nobody thinks SP is the savior anymore. Where you been? If anything, I'd say his leash is getting shorter and shorter.

SP was given the best FA acquisition in the history of the NFL by Loomis.

Are you kidding?
Who is going to fire him?
With Rita out, He and loomis basically own the team...

Both are washed up

This argument would only work if Miles was a defensive guy, which he's not.

Payton blows and Benson will never get rid of him.

I found it to be a pretty good analogy. But to answer, the difference if that generally things can change a lot more in a single season because of free agency vs recruiting. Les manages the clock like the saints manage their payroll (though not really Payton's responsibility).

He did rebuild with some new players at key positions. But the Saints were a .500 team in 2004 and I don't see any team keeping it together in 2005.

No political maneuvering to save CSP

Coach Payton's Saints, especially on Defense, are so bad as to warrant termination.
BUT Drew Brees would strongly object to Payton's dismissal, so, the two of them deserve to stay on board on their own terms, I suppose.
