Some might forget that fan comes from fanatic. Most here are. THIS is one of the best Payton quotes on that...

Sean Payton’s favorite messages to his team is that every week is going to be treated from the outside as either a “crisis or a carnival.” But the team can’t overreact either way after a win or a loss.

Individual losses don't spell crisis. Losing your QB like GB is a crisis. They haven’t lost back-to-back games under Payton since the end of the 2009 season.

Blueslover, you are both a scholar and a gentlemen. Some on here lose their shite after the first incomplete pass or run for loss. It's really very comical how as hard as it is to keep a job in the NFL, there are a couple hundred NFL head coaches who post on here.

This Bud's for you Blues...

It's kind of a silly statement by Payton - it is a crisis or carnival. every NFL game is worth 10 major league baseball games. every NFL game is worth five NBA games. every NFL game is worth five NHL games.

You want to tell me that losing that Browns game wasn't devastating in 2010? We have a bye and are cruising into the NFC championship game if we Don't lose to Cleveland.

In 2011 were hosting the 49ers than the Giants and making the Super Bowl if we don't lose in St. Louis.

Every game is huge - there's a reason Drew Brees is making over $1 million per game. theres a reason that Sean Payton is making $500,000 a game

He isn't saying each game ins't important. Each game IS important - but there is no reason to go into panic mode because of one loss.

Well we just lost two winnable games and now it looks like the road to the Super Bowl goes through Seattle. I don't see how that's not a reason to panic we've proven that we can't win games in that weather outside. Brees' passes flutter like blimps in windy conditions and we suck In nasty weather.

Brees is probably the best quarterback in the NFL inside and nobody comes in the Superdome and Beats us in a playoff game.

Home field = Super Bowl
Outdoor road game = season over

Both of our loses came to afc teams. If we beat the seahawks, and they lose a couple of road games we will be in great shape. I hate to say it but GO FALCONS this week.

correct, nothing to do with importance. It's the reaction we're addressing here.

Cut dlP, pick up Incognito!

A perfect example!!

I guess all the wins in the Saints 23-12 road record since '09 were indoors?

Edit: I'm so fanatical I had to look-

Outdoor Road Games Since '09
all wins except for losses CAPPED
philly
buffalo
miami
tampa bay
washington
LOST to carolina but few starters since #1 seed
san francisco
tampa bay
carolina
dallas
cincy
LOST baltimore
LOST tampa bay
LOST green bay
jacksonville
carolina
LOST tampa bay
nashville
-no look at 2012 aberration
tampa bay
chicago
LOST new england
LOST nyj

That's 15-7 on the road outdoors. That means they were 7-5 on road games indoors. Oh no!! CRISIS- this team has proven they can't win on the road INDOORS consistently!

Either that or the performance in the game means a lot more than if it is indoors or out.

These guys are professional football players and coaches. If we see the problems on the field by just watching the games, they already know the problem on the field and are in the best position to fix them. Calm the frick down and let them do their jobs.

Most of those impressive road wins were in 2009. Apples and oranges that was the one year we had a good running game.

We had a good run game in 2011 as well. Truth is our defense was masked by turnovers in both years. We lost the run game but actually have a dependable defense, save for the Ivory meltdown.

Slow down Negatron. A loss to the Jets and Patriots hardly means the road to the Super Bowl goes through Seattle. Sounds like you need to stop drinking the ESPN koolaid.

No panic mode here, but, the Saints lost two in a row. That's cause for some concern.

Check the schedule again. The Saints lost to the Patriots, had a bye week, beat the Bills and then lost to the Jets. By all counts that's 1 in a row with a primetime home game against the 32nd ranked defense coming up next.

wow, maybe there is some panic modality if you forget a solid win in between (and a bye week) so easily

He's right. Two in a row with a win in between. What's wrong with that?

Hmmm. Maybe I'm panicking and refuse to admit that I'm panicking. I'm panicked and don't realize that I've panicked.

In any case, I shouldn't panic.

PS SP is one of the great NFL HCs. History will show that. My concern is the talent level on the roster. SP can't work miracles without quality NFL talent on the roster at most positions, especially in the trenches.
